In elementary school we had French Bread Pizza every Tuesday and Thursday
Good times
In high school I worked in the cafeteria as a source of easy money for [strike]food gas[/strike]porn, and I would always mix drinks from the soda fountain when I had lunch after everyone else
My favorite was always Dr Pepper, Sprite and whatever the fruit punch back then was
If I recall we had 2 15 minute snacks. on around 9 or 10 and one around 2 or so. It was in the classroom, and it was almost always milk and graham crackers in the morning and peanut butter and cheese crackers in the afternoon.

I went to a fairly small catholic school for K-8. There just were no school lunch facilities. You went to the "gym" and ate your bag lunch at folding tables.
I went to a small public school in northeastern PA for grades 8-12. I graduated in 2002. The cooks were these awesome cute little old ladies and most of the food was wonderful. Things were modernized shortly after I graduated, it now feels like any other school. It makes me sad.
not because i didn't like physical activity, i played hockey when i was in high school
but fuck having that shit in the morning
walk around smelling like a gym all day
seriously.
The locker rooms would have open showers, but no one would use them cause
1. open shower
2. less than 10 min to change and get to your next class.
We all had lunch outside and played football for an hour
The only time this wasn't cool was when it was raining a lot in winter and none of the teachers wanted to open up a classroom for us so we wouldn't smell like wet dogs for the rest of the afternoon

you had to pack a lunch, and bring snacks for recess if you so desired
Dear satan I wish for this or maybe some of this....oh and I'm a medium or a large.
a tasteless, rubbery, piece of terror covered in a yellow/clearish gravy.
I would say you got your
just desserts
What happened to kids who didn't bring a lunch? Either cause they forgot it at home or their house didn't provide one.
That's called Suicide and the most delicious versions always start with a healthy base of Dr. Pepper.
They didn't eat.
Now that I think about it the cafeteria at work here has soda fountains
I think I'll see if I was truly insane back then or if a suicide is still yummy
oh
They were SOL.
You could either go home and get it at lunch time, call your mom to bring it, or be ridiculed for being poor.

We did not have lunch periods.
When I moved to Danvers I was shocked when everyone just went and starting eating in a big room.
Did you just eat during class or something?

i was always a little upset about not having playgrounds after 6th grade
except like this time
it is more organized
dodgeball leagues and shit like that
i dunno, i would support it. too many fatties
at least, that's what it would have been at my high school.
it was all the school could do to keep people from getting drunk on Zima during lunch breaks.
but make it more big-boy sized

Not a disaster as I was predicting, but not as tasty as I remember it being
seriously.
