I am currently running Windows 7 Ult x64, Radeon HD4870, new drivers, 4gb RAM, Core2duo E8600
@3.8GHz. I want to be able to play media on my XBOX 360.
It is connected through a wired connection and my Linksys router. Connection tests work, excellent bandwidth reported.
The Problem: As soon as I try to play
anything, even a 4mb mp3, the media center process proceeds to consume
all available RAM (I have 4gb). My computer is then rendered unusable and the xbox is frozen. What the heck is going on? I tried my google-fu, but apparently this isn't as common of a problem as I would have thought.
Running with a Radeon HD4870, new drivers, if that helps.
I really hope someone here has experience with this, because if it works, I won't need to build a full blown HTPC.
Please halp!
*Also, if I just stream music/media to the xbox, it works just fine and dandy. Something is off about the Media Center.
May the wombat of happiness snuffle through your underbrush.
