White tape that won't remove gloss paint after three months?
I've got some skirting board that I want to tape a wire along, temporarily (I'll be removing it after three months or so).
Are there any white tapes that I can leave on gloss paint for three months, and then remove without taking the paint off with it? Will masking tape do that?
It's hard to tell. Electrical tape would fall off though. It all depends on if it's cheap landlord white paint or not. You could try using painter's tape. If it's the cheap paint, looking at it long enough will peel it off the surface.
I'd just be ready to buy a little can of matching paint to touch it up when you're done.
Even painter's tape won't come off easily after it's been on for months. Something like this should work better. I've used them a few times, no problems as long as you take them off the way they recommend.
Id recommend a staple gun with small staples. Rather than large swaths of dried glue or messed up paint, it will only leave small pinholes in the wood.

You could also get wire conduit. I've got some long 1/4" diameter ones that I run speaker cables through along the edge of the baseboard. You minimize the mount points while maintaining the nice, concealed look. I think they even have the Command-style "pull the adhesive thing off" variety.

They have small clear hooks designed for Christmas light that might do the trick.
