Hi AC, I've been a lurker here for a little while and thought I'd start posting some of my own ventures into the world of posting!
Most of what I enjoy doing is 3D Lighting and Texturing. Some of what I post is schoolwork (I'm studying to work in the 3D arts) However, some of it will be personal work for my own practice and possibly portfolio.

I'd love to hear feedback if anyone has any, especially if you're a traditional artist or photographer. I'm well aware of the fact that I am weak when it comes to remembering everything I have to know about Maya on top of all of the graphic design and artistic elements I should be incorporating without consciously thinking about them.
Also, if anyone has any 3d models lying around I would love to have something to practice on!

This is a recreation of a piece of still life photography using only Maya's built-in procedurals. No photo-based textures.

An Italian Villa textured in Maya. HDRI, photo-based textures, and procedurals.

A SciFi scene I've only recently begun work on. Would love some critiques/suggestions.

All done in Autodesk Maya unless noted otherwise.
Thanks a lot AC!

Hey man, welcome to the AC. You've got some neat stuff there. I know absolutely nothing about this kinda thing, but my layman's observation tells me the wine could do with a little more transparency. Looks way too thick to be wine.

Daaaang. Really nice looking work. I'd love to hear about some of your process, what shader systems you used to create the images, how you went about setting up the lights, stuff like that. I'm currently studying 3d animation, and our program is woefully lacking a lot of information about setting up lights properly and using shaders to create the effects you have up there.

Where are you going to school?
