Trying to find/remember a TV show from the 90s about corporate evil
Ok, I am trying to find traces of a TV show that was on somewhere roughly between 1993 and 1997. The premise was that the main character was a corporate executive who was deliberately raised by his father to be a sociopath, i.e. the perfect executive. Kind of a predecessor to the more recent "Corporation" documentary, and fictional.
Some clues/memories:
- It was only on for one, maybe two seasons. Pretty sure it was on FOX and may have been right before or after X-Files.
- As a child, the main character was raised in a cardboard box so he wouldn't have human contact/socialization; flashbacks reference this.
- In one episode he beats a polygraph test by putting a tack in his shoe and pressing on it when answering questions so that his various vital signs fluctuate.
Anyone else remember this or know what it was called?
Wikipedia has it spot on: "Dark themes stemming from the amoral actions of the central character made the show uncomfortable and unfamiliar viewing for mainstream audiences and Fox network affiliates, which ultimately led to the demise of the series"
This is exactly why I loved it. Very excited to see that it somehow made it to DVD. Thanks again!
