The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
My other half has been hit by a wave of nostalgia and has expressed an interest in reading some old comics again. I thought it would be a nice surprise to pick up a series or two starting at the beginning and going at least some ways into it. I know Teen Titans and Ironman were two favorites. My better half read hand-me-down comics as a kid and apparently ones from the 60s and 70s are way better than ones from the 80s and 90s.
I really don't know anything about comics so I'd like to know what's the best way to pick old comics when you're trying to find a bunch of consecutive issues. These comics would be for reading in bed, not for collecting in plastic envelopes.
Would eBay be my best bet? Are there better, easier, or cheaper places to find such things? Any help would be appreciated.
I think that the internet has been for years on the path to creating what is essentially an electronic Necronomicon: A collection of blasphemous unrealities so perverse that to even glimpse at its contents, if but for a moment, is to irrevocably forfeit a portion of your sanity.

Graphic Novels (collected editions). Go on Amazon. That or just go to your local shop.
When I was a little kid, I always pretended I was the hero,' Skip said.
'Fuck yeah, me too. What little kid ever pretended to be part of the lynch-mob?'
You might want to look into "Omnibus" editions (likethese), which will probably be the cheapest way to get long consecutive issue runs. Have a look at what you're getting before you buy though as usually the paper and coloring is different from the originals.
I used to collect a bunch of the Marvel X-titles and when I last looked at them again most of the stuff from 60's through the mid-to-late 80's holds up well to re-reading.
I was going to search for an H/A thread where someone was interested in selling their collection and in the replies there were a few links to online marketplaces where you could get back issues for pretty reasonable prices. However the search function appears to be broken for me. Also you can get issues (usually in readable condition at best) cheap at places like half-priced books, but you're not going to get issue runs unless you're particularly lucky and the selection's a crapshoot.

Thanks a lot Esh and Djeet. I can't believe how easy you two just made this. Much appreciated.
Sentry, I'll keep an eye out for that one if more than the originals are needed.
Shawnasee, thanks for the tip, but I think paper is best in this case.

That's the first trade of his series.
