Need some help scrubbing PAX East 11 audio files

Long story short: If you attended PAX East and were trying to get into the panels in the IGDA room this year, chances are you ran into me.
The majority of those panels were recorded and a friend and I were going to clean them up to presentation quality....
but Murphy's law decided to rear its ugly head. Essentially we were locked out of the software suite we were intending to use to get rid of the general background noise, raise levels on audience questions, and overall just make the best out of what was recorded.
So rather than keep pecking away and getting these files out to the community sometime next eon...I figured I'd ask if anyone has any expertise in this area.
The original format was a .VOC which only seems to convert into an uncompressed wave file.
