Yahoo Mail and Windows Mail Live

My email address comes through yahoo.com. Last night I decided to try and add it to Windows Mail Live so I wouldn't always have to navigate away from what I'm doing or open a new tab. To avoid having to pay the 20$ a year to do this directly, I used YPOPs to configure the POP3 server.
I followed the instructions for both YPOPs and WML, and my messages started downloading, being scanned by my AVG email scanner. Since then, it has stopped downloading messages, with the connection apparently timing out every time I ask it to look for new messages. It got my emails for the last five years before it ran into this difficulty, and won't pick up anything earlier or any new messages that came since last night. I can still see new messages on the web browser.
Does anyone know what's wrong?
