and good lord am i excited about this game
i was mainly interested in it because it has the only non-two-dimensional gay character in living memory
but it turns out it's a small-town mystery story as well with elements of the tarot that takes many cues from Japanese mystery, Agatha Christie, and my man AC Doyle
you play as a city boy high schooler who rolls into this sleepy hamlet town to stay with a distant relative while your parents work out of country
he's a single parent who lives with his daughter. turns out he's also a homicide detective, and the first day you're out and about in the town, they find a dead body hanging from a television antenna.
I'm excited to find out more. it's probably the only element of japanese culture that i'd be willing to buy a statuette from.

I have not gotten super far into it because I have crap attention span with some games but what I've played was fun.
I am kind of saddened that there will be no more : (
and i spoiled myself on the game by watching that

I had gotten to the last boss (True, ultimatewhatever ending) and had saved before fighting it. Next day, I load it up and oh no my data (both of them) have been corrupted. If you're playing on the PS3 with internal memory I suggest keeping an eye on that, and maybe keeping several backups.
As a result I never actually beat the game. Putting in that much time and effort to only have it gone in the blink of an eye gave me a heavy grudge against it. I should really forgive it and replay it over summer.
I mean it's not awful or anything, but after a while I just wasn't having fun with it anymore, started to feel really repetitive
That being said, I really dig the Persona visual style, and really enjoyed the story up to whatever point I gave up at

Will probably just buy Persona 4 and play it on the P S 2 before I move out since I ain't takin that thing with me to a dorm room.
Playing it on my ps3 would be nice.
Taking out backwards compatiblity was so stupid.
I still love SMT: Nocturne most of all, and if my first playthrough didn't take me like 90 hours I would consider giving that another roll
