I hope P5 is nothing like 3 or 4. Half because I'm an old fart who wants everything to be like it was in the 90s, half because I get off on the delicious tears of angry nerds.

What "nerds" prefer the pop culture phenomenon of p3/p4? Wouldn't the older first person games be considered more nerdlike?

I also don't agree in general, persona has evolved into something completely separate from the rest of SMT in terms of feel, and that's a good thing. What I do hope happens is that P5 wont become stagnate and simply copy the same style from P4.

P4 GREATLY improved upon P3, I'd like to see the same in P5, but a divergence from the school/social link setting wouldn't behoove them at this point. That's what their other series are for.

Someone made a suggestion...somewhere (not sure if this forum) that the next Persona should feature older character in college.

I would love to see that. We always see highschool life depicted in anime, not so much college.

That's one of the best things about Persona 2: Eternal Punishment. All but one of the characters are adults, out of college, with jobs.

I think that is for the most part ageism in Japan.

I mean...ageism exists everywhere but tends to hover around much lower thresholds for the most part(Heck, look at what happened with FFXII).

That being said...it seemed a lot better a decade ago for the most part.

Well, they could always go with the extreme alternative: grade school.

Just think, a team of ten to twelve year olds being gifted with Persona, with no clear concept about their powers or how they can save the world.

Man you know what would be great: any sort of modern Persona game at all.

I love the DS and all, but man would the Persona games benefit from things as simple as elimination of the hilariously frequent load times.

Also I guess this is the place to ask: where/when can I get Catherine? I remember seeing a while ago that it was going to come out in the US.

Personally...I have a problem with a game called Persona being based around people who have yet to develop much of a self-identify and probably haven't even gone through puberty yet.

Ken was an exception I guess because he probably had to grow up fast. Wish he would have found some pants while he was doing it.

A Persona anime by the Magica Quartet and Studio Shaft.

I would watch a P4 anime extremely hard, but the last attempt not only did not feature anyone from P3, you pretty much had to squint to see it was even tangibly related to Persona.

Or so I've heard. I haven't seen it myself.

Well there's Akihiko, and an older guy/pet dog duo who may or may not be Ken and Koromaru, but that's it.

Akihiko can't even use his Persona, because supposedly LOL ADULTS CANT USING PERSONAS. Of course, the protagonist's brother can, because he's just that awesome.
    He's also popping Strega pills.

Fake edit: oh, and Igor shows up too. As a fortune teller. For five seconds.

Doesn't sound worth it at all.

I'll never understand why so many game-to-anime adaptions fail. So many JRPGs could be easily carried over into a weekly anime (FFVII, Persona, Xenogears, etc), but whenever an attempt is made it results in something either completely different or just plain adaptation decay. I thought Valkyria Chronicles looked real promising until people bitched about how they screwed it up. How do you screw it up? It's loaded with cutscenes!

Best adaptions I've seen are FFVII Last Order (why the hell did they not follow up on this?) and Street Fighter(minus that awful Generations OVA).

A P4 anime would be crazy easy to do, as long as they, you know, not fucking change anything.

The problem often comes from not getting the original writers in on the new project combined with new writers' egos getting in the way and them not understanding why the source was successful. Least, that's what I figure.

And there can be things in the source material that just don't work in a different format, so they have to be changed. It can be done well, if you know what you're doing, but in most cases the new writers don't.

In this one a city is going to be shrouded in a heavy fog that just appeared mysteriously one day and won't disappear.

There isn't anything eventful about the fog, per say, but boy does it make travel inconvenient.

Oh yeah, some kids have persona too. You won't really see them though, because the show is more about their day to day commute.

I'm getting really frustrated with Persona 3. Last thread I was reassured that I wasn't doing anything wrong.

The game is just set up to test your patience with random deaths, long breaks between save points and no way to possibly level up reasonably with the horrible Tired system and horrendously low experience/money rewards.
