Plantronics 655 DSP robots out

Okay, so fairly frequently, the sound coming through my Plantronics headset will get more and more staticky until I can't understand what is going on, and then it'll fade out again. It does this no matter how much wire jiggling, connection ensuring, or driver updating I try. Googling it is impossible, or at least I can't find the right keywords.

Anyone have any ideas? It's a USB headset, and my analog headphones work fine.

    Would I get more replies if I talked about how the headset was on a girl, and that I wanted to tell her that I really liked her over skype but the headset makes it impossible?
