So I just got the blue glow on my Wii, turn it on, check the message, and it's from nintendo, another warning message about the Wii Wrist strap, saying a small number of people let go of the wiimote while playing, and an even smaller number are having the original wrist strap break. They then direct you to their website, or the customer service line telling you you can get new ones.

Who else has gotten this?
I did at one point. I'm guessing they have a list of Wiii that shipped with the thin wrist strap and they compare it to the list of people who requested replacement straps and message the others.

I'm guessing they just sent it to everyone, because I already have my new straps and I got the message.

Hm, twas the wrist strap message. My Wii came with the newer wrist strap (or so I believe)... eh whatever. Even if it didn't, I wouldn't need the thicker wrist strap because I am not a dumb, stupid head.
No. I made sure it could go online by checking out the Weather and News Channels, but no new messages. It seems that I still can't message Senor Fish either, even though he says he added me, and I added him days ago.
Hopefully there should be something soon after having my Wii go on then off while "knowing" there is a connection to it. That seems to be the only real problem I have. Once I kill the internet connection, it seems my Wii won't be able to fully connect again until I turn it on again. It'll connect to the NWC dongle, but not completely to the internet.

It's the same over on my side. Man, I really need the Bob Ross mii. My Mii's need an artiste!
Getting Wii messages is so fucking exciting. Seeing that blue light start humming is awesome. The message itself was dissappointing, though. I got my straps like a month ago. :?
I wonder why they waited so long to send this out? Maybe they realized new strap requests were no where near the amount they sold, and wanted to protect themselves from lawsuits.

I woke up in the middle of the night, and as I was going to get up and grab a clock or something to see what time it was, I looked up over my couch, and my Wii was glowing. It scared the crap out of me for a second.

More or less my response to the message as well.
