Hay guys has anyone else tried this? I'm looking at maybe spending a week in the T&C for a bit of a vacation. Is there only one hostel in the entire island(s)? Is there anywhere cheaper to stay then 100/night?

I have only been to the island once, but my impression was that the target demographic is the upper/wealthy individuals and the lodging is priced for that market. I stayed at the Comfort suites for one night and it was around 100 dollars and was a nice stay.

My wife and I have been there 3 times, including once for our honeymoon. It's not a budget destination, by any means. We're both lawyers, but we were probably on the poorer end of the T&C tourist demographic. You can get some good deals in the offseason, but finding something for less than $100/night is going to be tough. On top of that, food is pretty expensive.

We love the T&C, but if you can't really afford to drop some decent change on the trip, you're probably not going to enjoy yourself as much as you would at a cheaper destination.

Basically T&C is a place where rich people go to play in the sun and spend money in expensive restaurants. You can probably figure out how to go there on more of a budget, but it's not really geared towards people who aren't willing to spend at least $500/day on lodging and food.

I stayed in a great place for ~200 a night. We kept cost down by using the grocery stores on Provo for food for breakfest and lunch, and going out for dinner only. Even than I think we ran ~300 - 350 a day. Now we didn't hit all the fine dining places, but we did go to a couple.

Note: We rarely drink, which keeps the cost down.
