Blood Bowl isn't terrible, but it is pretty niche. Learning to play is a bit of a chore too. I play turn based and started a Lizardman team in my game and basically the key in understanding the flow of play is that you can move all your characters until one and a time until one of them buggers something up. So positioning players early is important. If you move next to an opposition player they will get a free swipe at you, if they hit and knock you ovre, turn over. So don't go trying to run it straight away, make a few blocks with strong players, shape the field first before trying to exploit holes. I don't have LEgendary edition but am considering it because it can be pretty fun to play once you get the mechanics sorted. Might wait for it to be $5, def buy then.
There are not nearly enough Warhammer 40K Mods available on the internet. I will get to Fallout 3's mods when I beat Witcher and Magicka, but still....magicka....Warhammer 40K.....magicka....40K....
What was I saying...oh yeah, waiting for $5 also gives you more time to clear out your backlog but an addendum to that rule might be, beat a game.
I want a Dawn of War 2 mod that adds in bloom and any other graphical improvements. I've always wanted the game to look like this, really:
So the Dungeon Siege III presale is a neat trick. Buy now and get "playable single player Dungeon Siege 1 and 2" now.
But Dungeon Siege 1 and 2 aren't on Steam...?
They're on Steam now, and the only way to get them is pre-ordering DSIII...

The popular theory is that this means that they're releasing Portal 2 early
The thing that bugs me about the Dungeon Siege 1 and 2 for free thing is that it says "single player versions". They won't have multiplayer? What's that about?

Someone in the DS3 thread something about the servers being long gone or something
Dungeon Siege 1 was a horrible game. Imagine Diablo with a full party. Now imagine that party's AI is set to play the game for you, and your role is basically just sorting through piles of uninteresting loot and clicking "go forward" along an interminable linear path for several hours. Also the game has no personality. That's Dungeon Siege.

This is a good synopsis
The UI is kind of bad at times, but otherwise it is not disappointing in the least in how it actually plays.
The caveat being that to play it, you basically need to read and understand the rulebook for the tabletop game because there's basically no tutorial.
I paid $40 for it, and I don't regret it for an instant.
What think you, folks, should I spring for Shogun 2 on Amazon or cross my fingers for the next big Steam sale? When do people predict the next major sale will be? The $15 credit is appealing, but I hardly ever buy games on Amazon unless they're Steamworks, or the odd obscure title Steam doesn't have like The Saboteur.

So, dungeon siege 3 preorder on steam, total love. Im not sure if I should pick it up. Only because Im not sure if they cough up the other two games first thing. If so, sounds like a good plan.. Hmm.
I LOVED the first 2. I remember reading the release has been pushed out a bit too for #3. I think I am going to hold off and burn down some backlog, and maybe see if they have a 5-10% sale or something before release to get the pre-order.
blech server busy still...
The way leveling worked in DS1 kinda sucked.
Then they fixed it in the sequel, and as a result, DS2 turned out to be a pretty damned fine game. Its a shame you literally can't buy DS2 anywhere these days. Unless you want to pay way too much for a copy on e-bay.

Yes, get it. Shogun 2 is awesome.
I am already committed to acquiring the game in some fashion at some point, I'm just asking for gambling advice here basically. $47 plus a dubiously useful $15 credit on Amazon now, or hold out and take my chances on a Steam sale within the next month or so?

There is literally no reason to buy it directly from Steam now. I would pay a couple bucks more, not get the $15 credit towards another game, and it's a Steamworks title so I can activate it on Steam no matter where I buy it anyhow.
Buying it from Steam now is just bone-headed unless one has a serious hatred for Amazon for whatever reason.

Of course, you gotta remember to use that $15 credit eventually. I had stocked up a bunch of Amazon credit in the past, oblivious to the issue that they expire. Yeah, pretty boneheaded of me.

I want to try the Anomaly: Warzone Earth game, but I can't get the demo to download.
Anyone here played it yet? Is it any good? I know it's cheap and all, but I'd rather not be out another $9 for a crappy game if I can help it.

Make your own decision.
Well if people understood what I was actually asking for advice on, I wouldn't have to. ;-)
But Bedlam is probably right, I rather doubt it's going to go on sale in the immediate future, I'm just trying to weigh "I want it" against "Do I want it right now?"

No one knows when Shogun 2 will be on sale, and the Amazon credit is dependent entirely on you.

I was initially turned off because the first sentence in the Steam description says "tower defence", but after watching the Giant bomb Quick look, I may pick it up at some point. RPS also has an article on it.
Just curious for guesses/speculation, buddy. Speculation on the "next sale" is kind of a popular recurring topic in these threads, if you haven't been around to notice. But thanks for your assistance, you must be indispensable when someone is trying to deicde whether to bring an umbrella with them when they go to work or wondering who's going to win the AL pennant this year. ;-)
In any case, it appears the $15 credit applies to any video game or computer game purchase, so I could apply it to, say, a 3DS game even though it's unlikely I'll be buying another PC game from them in the near future. So I think it's worth springing for. My gratitude for holding my hands as I stroked my goatee and said hmmmm, chaps.

I'd wait, personally, because I'm not that interested in Shogun 2 and don't mind picking it up 6-12 months from now. But if you're eager for the game, $15 now is as good as you're likely to see in the immediate future.

OK, so I just tried to log in to Steam through Firefox 4 for the first time (as opposed to through the Steam application itself).
This has prompted Steam to demand that I enter an access code which it claims it e-mailed to me. Except it didn't. And yes, I checked my spam folder. So now I'm told I need to contact Steam support to access my account.
Which is sort of pointless because I can still log in through the Steam application any time, but still, this is moronic.

Cool! Thanks guys. The Giant Bomb video (as always) pretty much made me buy it.
I've been waffling about getting it, but in the end I just decided to wait for a good steam or d2d sale or somesuch. In the end, the game won't really be any worse by getting it later. Frankly, its a cheating CA game, I can wait. I doubt Id even touch it for several months anyway.
But the draw of getting the sequel to the only TW game I /liked/ is very strong. Still, its no COD, I doubt it'll take half a year to get a sale or price drop.

Yeah, I'd suggest waiting a day or two. The price has been fluctuating between 40 and 50. 47 is on the high side that they've had it
