This weekend at drill one of my SSGTs gave me a pen that got quickly tucked away in my pen pocket on my sleeve and was forgotten about. I do laundry today and upon removing my laundry behold! Ink everywhere. Unfortunately it got over three of my favorite shirts and all over my ACUs. I'm not worried about the ACUs. They'll fix themselves. What I'm pissed about is my shirts being dotted with ink. My white shirt is obviously ruined, but I think the other two shirts can be saved. What's a sound solution to getting ink removed from clothing?

I've heard that hairspray will help to get it out but I tried it with the arm of my couch and I think it just set the ink. My boss's wife stretches clothes over a bucket and pours really, really, really hot water on them from about 8 feet up. She claims it works but I haven't seen it, only heard of it.

bleach for the white shirt. What color are the other shirts? if theyre black you can use a sharpie and color over it, then wash it again, the sharpie will fade to shirt color. its what i do with shirts that got dotted with bleach.

If theyre other colors, see if you can find a sharpie that matches closely.

One shirt is white, the other two are red and green.

First, spray the fabric with hairspray til it is wet. Then, rub it with household soap, rinse, and repeat. This gets ink out of most fabrics, both felt/fibre tip pen ink, and biro/rollerball ink. Unless its a permanent ink pen, then you're stuffed.
