I really wish Gabe would do backgrounds for when Gabe and Tycho are standing about. They're all always white or an orange gradient. In 2002 he made some stock backgrounds for those situations, and even that is less lazy than what he's doing now.

Yeah, even a blank wall would be less jarring than them continually standing in an infinite white void.

Otherwise, I really liked the joke.

I hadn't heard about this new Kindle variant until this comic. Apparently the hardware is the same, it's just $25 cheaper with ads replacing the author portraits on the sleep screen and an ad banner on the bottom of the home screen. Sounds like a fair trade-off.

To me a lifetime of advertisement is worth a much bigger discount than $25. I have almost completely stripped all advertisements from my life (except billboards, damn you billboards!). I don't need to start voluntarily introducing new vectors of attack.

Consider the amount of times they've died in a comic and perpetual trips to the afterlife seem to be perfectly valid for them.

It looks kinda like an animation cel that way. An old one from back when animators were still painting with non-digital paints.
