computer wakes instantly

Hey all,

My computer wakes up right when it enters sleep mode. Not sure what the deal is.

When I enter cmd powercfg -lastwake, it tells me that the thing that woke it is the USB Root Hub. I don't want to disable the root hub because of all the keyboards and mice that are plugged into it. Help?

Do you have anything plugged into your front ports? If so, try moving them to the back.

Or, you can set certain devices to not wake the computer.

Try your mouse first. Go into device manager, right click your mouse, and in the properties, you should be see "allow this device to wake computer."

If that doesn't fix it, allow your mouse to wake the computer again and try the keyboard.

I had the same issue with my laptop a while back. Basically any activity in the USB port was waking it. And I had a wireless mouse in the USB port that was sending data back and forth, thus, waking my laptop constantly. If you go into advanced power settings, you can go into the USB power settings and prevent this.
