natural metabolism boosters?

The vast majority of sites I've come across while researching the subject appeared suspect, so I'm turning to H/A for help. Like the title says, are there any natural (i.e. no pills because I don't want my heart to shoot out of my chest and explode) metabolism boosters? The only one I know of for sure is green tea. I've been told that cinnamon acts as one, but I haven't been able to find any documentation that supports this claim.

Eat breakfast and many small meals. Breakfast should be your largest meal, lunch smaller and dinner smallest of all if you're eating three.

    You've been reading WebMD, haven't you? :/

No, neither green tea nor cinnamon will "boost" your metabolism.

Eat well, move more, sleep better and your metabolism will take care of itself.

I have the impression that doing what you want could make you age faster. Regular exercise, sex, Ginseng tea, and healthy eating can do that.

Be careful with Ginseng though, it is a blood thinner.

Science has yet to discover a substance that causes you to safely lose weight by sitting around and eating it.

Nearest thing to that would just be eating more fiber; generally causes you to fill up on smaller portions.

Natural metabolism booster? Eat more meals, smaller portions. If you eat a good breakfast, then just eat small bits of stuff all day, you will increase your metabolism. Never eat until your full doing this, just eat a normal size breakfast, then an hour later eat a banana, an hour after that a bit of trail mix, etc etc etc. Stop eating about 2 or 3 hours before you go to bed.

There are no pills or anything that works like that, outside of stuff like amphetamines or other substances which rev you up.

Haven't been reading WebMD, no. I exercise daily and have my diet under control. I was simply curious if there were any foods or drinks to supplement diet and exercise.

Does exercising involve weightlifting? If you keep on it every other day and steadily increase what you're lifting, that will boost your metabolism something fierce.

Make sure you get enough Iodine in the foods you're eating. Cranberries, yogurt (plain yogurt, not the stuff loaded with a bunch of sugar and such,) and strawberries are good sources of it. Iodine is one of the things that helps your thyroid operate optimally. The thyroid controls your body's energy. At best, it might improve your thyroid condition, which is good because thyroid disease blows. At worst, you're eating cranberries, yogurt, and strawberries, which are all generally considered good for you anyway. Of course, the only way you can be sure what level your thyroid is at is by checking with a doctor who will run a blood test on you. Increasing iodine also isn't a magic bullet to improved thyroid condition. The worst case scenario is still pretty good though (unless your allergic,) so there's no harm in trying to eat a bit more of those foods in your diet.

High rep weightlifting will keep your metabolism up as well as your muscles require energy to be maintained.

We iodize our salt in America. That gets rid of most of the thyroid problems caused by a like of iodine.
