I wish I had access to a digital camera, but I don't. Hopefully you'll be able to ID it without a photo.
The object is a nice shiny chrome - and meant to hang like a key-chain (has the ring.) It's round and right about the size of a pocket watch. Pressing the button at the top where it connects to the chain part, the thing flips open. It's empty inside, but it has this little leaf shaped mechanism that springs the top open. The leaf part has grooves on it (decorative, I assume) to actually make it look like a leaf. It is curved down the middle - also like a leaf. It's firmly attached though, so you couldn't use it like a scoop for the contents.
I've been pondering it for a long time, trying to think what could be stored in this. It's not water tight. I suppose you could put a powder in it (I briefly thought maybe one could snort coke out of the leaf part, but you'd have to actually place it in the leaf - it does not scoop, as previously mentioned), but I think the powder would leak out too. So I guess you could put any old thing in it like coins or bus tokens... but the leaf part really gets me. I just feel like this thing was made for something in particular.
