hey,
I recently purchased an original FAMILY COMPUTER by NINTENDO.
Along with it I got 25 or so games. All in japanese.
I know the unit is really old, but it works. It has to controlers attached to the unit and an extra controller loose with it. The controlers have volume switches on them.
It is a cartridge top loader.
I dont know if it is first generation or whatever came just before the nes.

What is something like that worth? Is it really something rare to find?

Here is a good site with info about the Famicom.

    http://www.vidgame.net/NINTENDO/FAMICOM.htm

If you look on Ebay it is worth 50-100+ if it is in good shape and the games are in good shape. If you have a box with it then that will jump up the price a bit as well.

You should just keep it and play it. They are not really hard to find in japan but are rare in the states. Its a good time if you have never played it. A bunch of the games never came out in the US and there are some that you can play with out having to read anything.
