I know this is a bit open ended, but this is the best place I could think of to ask.

I found a couple of Scott Walker tracks on my computer, and I liked them.

What would be the best album or compilation of his to buy to decide if I can be bothered getting into his stuff more?

Which period? Because his new album is nasty and dark and very shitty (but critcally acclaimed), whereas his older stuff was more upbeat.

Well, I've listened to Plastic Palace People about a million times over and I love it, so stuff around that time, I guess. I don't really know much, or anything about him.

No, see, The Drift is recommendable because of The Escape. It may be a different sort of album, and maybe not as good as Scott 4 for example, but it was well done, even if the lyrics are sort of...Frank. It's got a great atmosphere, and it sounds nasty, dark, and shitty, but not in a bad way.

I'm sort of new to Scott Walker, but so far I've really liked Scott 1-4, Tilt, and The Drift.
