    Convince others to jump your own bandwagon to counteract the previous bandwagon.

    I liked homestuck and problem sleuth until they got complicated

    I always thought that they were the sort of complicated that is more needlessly opaque than actually complex and well-conceived

    I loved Problem Sleuth but most of its complexity seemed like it was a parody of pointless complexity and mostly ignorable (except for maybe the last battle).

    there is definitely an element of that, but it's played for humor

    and honestly it's pretty impressive how he manages to link all these seemingly pointless plot threads into something coherent.
