I got a lot of damn static electricity in my clothes after they come out the drier and it gets annoying as shit when I'm going to class and my shorts are like pulling my hairs and shit. How do I stop this nonsense?

Do you use a no-cling sheet?

Oddly, I was just looking up static cling yesterday when I couldn't remember the brand name of those dryer sheets (Bounce).

Apparently, the chemicals in those dryer sheets are unhealthy, and the Internet recommends using vinegar in your wash cycle to avoid static cling.

I thought the dryer is what caused the static cling, how would vinegar in the wash cycle help that?

    Also... how much vinegar?

Yeah, it seems unintuitive to me, too. As far as I can tell, fabric softener in general decreases static cling, and vinegar works as a fabric softener. I dunno.

Some sites say 1/4 cup per wash load, others say 1/2 cup.

    Google search

Oh, and don't do the vinegar thing if you're adding bleach.

Get a drying rack for your clothes. Not only will there be no static, your clothes will also last MUCH longer. Using a dryer destroys your clothes over time.

But using a dryer and using anti-static sheets is so much easier and faster.

Seriously, use them. Theyll also make your clothes softer.
