I use to cheer on the Avs when Roy, Sakic, Forsberg, Hejduk oh and my boy Bourque.
Oh and NailBunny I can see that and respect that. At first i was ok with the hit, but the more i saw it the more i started to realize it was a bit on the "what the hell were you thinking man" category of hits.
The thing about the Bieksa hit was that Bickell clearly left his feet when he made the hit. I don't care where or how Bieksa got hit, but Bickell left his feet and that is always a no-no.
I'm not a tin-foil hat wearer, but I sure as shit think that the officials need to sit down with the commissioner and really hash out what is going to be a penalty and what isn't. I'm happy to let the guys play and prefer that to constant calls 10 times out of 10. But when you've got some things being called in one game and then all the sudden the refs clam up in a different series or even a different game in that series, it's just inconsistent and frustrating for everyone.
That being said I've already got butterflies about Vancouver. This is going to be the roughest sports day I've had in some time.
They've been swallowing their whistles all series, and they call that. That and the four minute high stick caused by the Kings. Frustrating.
Now you know how it felt for the refs to give Frolik that fucking penalty shot last night
Or no penalty on Bickell's head shot to Bieksa. Where the hell is the call for Bickell to be suspended for life and all the nonsese like there was for Torres? The hit was, frankly, worse than the hit on Seabrook. The NHL sure makes it easy for people to think that they are trying to even up series and games by favouring the team that is down.
Also, amusing.
Wasnt the deal witht he Bickell VS Torres shots that
A) Bickell used his shoulder not his elbow
Bieksa had the puck, Seabrook did not.
Im not a big Hockey guy, so maybe it was just the fact I was watching on a chicago biased station led me to believe those differences matter.
Torres used his shoulder, and Seabrook was nano seconds from receiving the puck.

With no emotional investment, tonight is going to be pretty good viewing.
I do, however, have nothing but sympathy for those with their metaphorical nuts in a wringer.

Yeah, I felt terrible about it the rest of the evening after Game 6, and then yesterday I felt oddly content (in a "life goes on" sort of way), and now I feel nauseous again.
Though that may be due to the large coffee I had on Granville Island for lunch.
Oh yeah, I don't blame any of you guys, Chicago would be the easiest match up for Detroit or San Jose.
That being said...you think that would be the case for Vancouver. Ugh.
I think you're exactly wrong on this. On paper sure, but if the Hawks win 4 straight to come back from a 0-3 hole...thats a much scarier team than a team that almost loses after having a 3-0 lead.

Don't know if I can bother going through the abuse of sitting through this game coming up. Sigh.

The Canucks aren't Detroit or San Jose.
Hence why if I were a Detroit or San Jose fan, I would rather play Chicago than Nashville.
You're comparing apples and oranges.
edit: I see what you mean now. I wasn't comparing Vancouver and Chicago, I was comparing Chicago and Nashville.
On a sidenote I should point out the little tidbit that today during official practice, when the Canucks came out to skate at Rogers Arena the scoreboard said Chicago 5 - Vancouver 0.

Yeah, Chicago's a good matchup for any other team in the playoffs. Unfortunately for Vancouver, Chicago is a bad matchup for the Canucks, because the Hawks have built themselves a nice little vacation home inside Luongo's psyche.
I honestly think that if the Canucks manage to win tonight they will absolutely destroy Nashville in the next round. That's a gigantic if, though... :x

A bad omen?
nah, just left over from last game. Actually, I hope it pissed them off and got them motivated.
Edit: Nashville would be a challenge too. Rinne is a hot goalie this year, and their D is amazingly deep.
Dear habs fans,
I'm sorry the ref fucked up that whistle. If I could give you that goal back I would, I swear. I can't handle a win based on a missed call so blatently obvious as that one. Please forgive the ref and please don't take it out on my fellow Bs fans.

Not entirely. As an Avs fan, I feel it's my duty to route for the Hawks.
rooting for the hawks
ugh

Maybe a bit. I don't think either will give the Sharks much trouble, but that's what I said about the Kings too...
I must admit, I was rooting for the Hawks last game because I love watching game sevens when the Sharks aren't involved, but now I got your back Riku.
Yep. I predict I'll be watching the game with my hands in front of my face for the entirety of the 3rd.
"You did not let Luongo hear it."
"Uhhh, they didn't really want us to play it...."
I also fully expect to hear it like 8 times tonight.
That being said...you think that would be the case for Vancouver. Ugh.

but good lord that song is so fucking annoying.
I'm not actually a Chicago fan, I just like The Fratellis.
Oh god every time I start thinking about this game I get sick to my stomach.
Though that may be due to the large coffee I had on Granville Island for lunch.
They beat them 3 times
Maybe they're just confused and don't know they have to beat them 4 times?
Where do his skills go?

I think he gets too focussed on being checker. He has done a good job on Toews this series, but he needs to step it up offensively. No goal! :x
Sadly, Detroit couldn't draw them unless the Kings pulled off the upset. But they suck in OT.
