Some months back I'd asked for magazine recommendations, something my mother and father (and possibly young sister) might read seeing as they were in dire need of alternate news sources. They'd taken to watching Fox news and conservative radio pundits. I never quite believed it when people said their family members were affected by watching that sort of media but . . . wow, yes, there is a noticeable difference in behavior. I've managed to wean them off, but I started thinking that it would be worthwhile to subscribe to some sort of magazine; they can't be expected to read anything online but they will read a print source.
I happened to lose the list of suggestions people offered, so I am asking again for magazine recommendations. I was thinking of something weekly (like Time, Newsweek and Christian Science Monitor) as well as something monthly.
Otherwise, talk about your favorite printed publications.
Here is what we get:
And sometimes we get Sunset and Entertainment in Espanol.
The Economist is the best weekly news magazine out, in my opinion.

I asked them if they would like a magazine subscription or two (I am paying); and they said yes. I told them I would give them recommendations and they will pick.
They like the new radio station we picked out and are content with watching different news stations (they turned tail when immigration issues kept popping up more frequently, they themselves being immigrants).
I'll be honest. I police their media a lot, considering it is shared (tel., movies, etc). Because otherwise they will start lecturing me about how awful it is.

Liiya, that fits so well! Most adorable florist.
I feel like the younger generation is much better prepared to critically evaluate sources thanks to the internet and its never-ending font of bullshit that we needed to learn to sift through
my friends got it for me as a best man present when they got married, along with a $100 gift certificate to chipotle and a zippo lighter and i've kept the subscription going ever since

But regardless, your parents are their own people, it's not up to you to decide what they should or shouldn't watch.

That policeman clearly hasn't applied any linseed oil to that bat before he started using it. That's basic cricket bat care for goodness sake.
