Hi. My name's Max. Long time lurker here. I have a lot of admiration for the vast talent that is showcased in this forum. Thought I'd start a thread of my own instead of jamming up the doodle thread. Started studying at an Edinburgh(Scotland!) college of art 2 years ago doing graphic design. Have realised since then that it's not really what I'd like to do, and would rather pursue a career in drawing/illustration. Anyway I'd love it if i could receive some feedback on my work as I have been struggling as of late. These are just a couple of paintings(acrylic on wood) I begun this weekend. The self portrait has been squared up(not sure what the technical term is) so that I could get the proportions right, although they probably are not. I think the eyes might be too big. I'll post some reference photos shortly and a couple pages from my sketchbooks. I don't think the proportions are correct on the sitting figure but I can't work out what is wrong! Any help would be extremely appreciated.
Also, does anyone know if you're supposed to img link from flickr or is it best to use something else like imageshack? I unforunately don't have my own website.
