Very cool, and thanks for making the badges again this year! For the front, I think I prefer the second because the background immediately behind the logo is overall slightly darker. I think that's why people say it looks brighter.

For the back, I love the idea, but the very straightness of the glare looks odd. The screen you're using is rounded, which usually ends up with a rounded drop shadow/highlight effect.

I'd also love to get added to the list on the back. :)

I really like this redesign over years past. Regardless of the final version, I'd wear it with pride. Thanks for doing this again, Kropotkin! I think I owe you several beers by now.

Yep, usually clip it on with your pass.

Yep, usually clip it on with your pass.

But you must be prepared to show the green coats (WSCTC employees) your pass as you wander the show so be careful of placement.

They are produced and given out to those who qualify (answer the questions) at pre-pax events, and people typically write in their details. I'm not sure if a high res version is ever given out.

I don't think Kropotkin has collected the names yet. What I've seen on the forums in the past is that he makes a post saying something like "I am compiling the list by < X DATE >, if you want to be on it, make it known." I don't think he's made that post yet, so you should have plenty of time.

Hello all! Fear not, I have not fled these fine forums! I have merely been lurking while I prepare to travel to LA LA land next week for a rather crass video game expo that doesn't bear mentioning, at all. Anyway in answer to some of the questions above:

    1) Badges can only be picked up from unofficial social events or from the BYOC regsitration desk. None are sent out to forum members individually.

    2) The names on the back have not been collated. Typically this begins in late July, just before I get them printed and sent to event organisers.

    3) The badges are free but do NOT grant you any special privileges within the expo nor are they recognised by PA.

Not sure if its too late but I live version 1 of the front and 2 of the back. Oh and just to add to the pre-pre list of i want on the list. Can I be on the list please. :?:

It's looking good. I like the change and change is always good. I'm worried the colors for the back might make it hard to read on paper, especially through plastic. But I had to give my kudos for the latest designs.

I'm kinda digging version 2. Silly question, why not just run a poll?

I didn't throw in on this thread last year because I was only a lurker but I've become a far more active poster recently and have been getting in on some awesome gaming with the forumites. I've been playing more games since I became involved here than I was prior. This place rocks. <3

I'm sorry you're not keen on the back. I wanted to go with a sci-fi theme as PAX East 2011 Forum Badge had a medieval scroll on the back with text written in hand script and it even had a wax seal. I thought Prime should have the opposite theme in keeping with the idea.

Ah well, you can't please everyone I guess :o

I like the back. Hearkens back to the days of yore, when I played Oregon Trail on a phosphor screen.

Kids today with their 'hard drives' and 'DSL'. When I was your age, we had to walk five miles uphill in the snow to connect to a BBS!
