I honestly don't see a reason to be in korea atm unless you are able to stay in code S really.

There is just so little going on, while there are a ton of things going on in the west. Really hoping this lets haypro start performing consistently, he has been really awesome in some games after all.

I don't really get why any non-Korean is still in Korea. Jinro's the best non-Korean out there by miles and he isn't going to make any money for two months. I guess the non-fiscal benefits outweigh the loss of potential income for those dudes.

And fOu have now had everyone except sC get knocked out of GSL completely. GOM really dropped the ball on having team performance or individual performance within GSL's not be a factor in qualification. :(

edit: Puma is a TvT specialist, right? I guess TSL were expecting fOu to put sC out first and get an early snipe on him?

they did take individual performance into account

i don't know exactly what they based their numbers on, but it was before fOu lost all their code a players.

Not unwinnable but it's a bad situation.

1 base ling fails to someone who manages to get 3 roaches, 1 queen and 1 spine up before you get your banes in. kindof the reason i've all but abandoned them ZvZ.

Yeah, it's completely idiotic. You shouldn't even be invitable when you're in game, and when you're not you should get a dialog box asking if you want to get pulled into this chat.

there should be nothing that interrupts a game, except a network outage. i mean, modal dialogs are a UI design no-no anyway, but to even consider one during a reactivity intense game, is just plain old bad design/decision making.

joe, just so you know, you can click on quote for a reply into a new tab, then reply all at once (in one post).

After you've read the entire thread :P

I often comb through and pick up a post, then keep reading only to find someone already quoted it, so I respond to that one instead (sometimes it gets to like 3 quotes before mine)

On BWG especially, some spawn positions and ramp edges make zealot walls fairly difficult.

Oh, yes, I missed that it was on backwater.

Its pretty much impossible to do a standard gate/core wall on Backwater, you need to incorporate a pylon somehow, I think. You may have done that, I don't know. Post up the replay. There aren't any remaining bugs to my knowledge where lings can get past zealots properly positioned.

It's not that standard walls are impossible so much as that there isn't always the standard 1x1 place for you to cram in a zealot. The ramp wall moves away at an angle, and if you have the zealot too far back a zergling can fit around.

    Super stupid newbie questions incoming:

Is there a way of easily tracking the number of harvesters you currently have?

Would ctrl+clicking a working harvester select them all?

Follow up question - you need about 30 harvesters per base for them to be saturated? I play toss, no access to the terran mule thinggies.

I'm just trying to figure out when I need to stop making probes - like, if I'm on 2 base, do I need to keep going above 60 with the intent of getting my 3rd? Wouldn't my main be close to depleted a that point?

In longer games, I'm running into the issue of not having quite enough supply to build as big a bio ball as I want - suiciding drones is an option I suppose, but I just want to know if there's a solid number I should generally aim for.

edit: I did read the newbie guide in the OP but it says to just keep building probes forever...

The ideal saturation is 2 workers per mineral patch.
You will gain more minerals if you go up (I think the max is 2.7), but you get diminishing returns once you go beyond 2.

Yes, CTRL-click is one way, or you can just drag-select. I use the former.

98% of all bases have 8 patches, so you should see 16 workers, which is the same as 2 rows of units.

If you have 2 gas up, that's 3 workers / gas, so if you CTRL-click, you should see

    16 on minerals
    + 6 on gas
    - 2 on gas that are inside the extractors and not visible
    = 20

so 2 rows and 4 workers on the third row

if you're not being attacked, it's good to make extra workers before the expansion goes up so you can transfer them and be at full saturation faster

wasn't making a comment on it, just saying that Blizz is going to release all 3 packs at full price(3x$60), and then once they see a dip after the last release, you'll see a battlechest that is under $100, but don't expect to see a break in price until then.

color me surprised. it was released at $60, they did cut the price, but i'm pretty sure that I read Reggie talking about releasing the expansions as "full" games, i.e. $60.

It was released at $50, not $60 IIRC. I don't think Blizz has ever released a $60 PC game. Also it's $40 on Amazon for a while now.

Edit: Woops guess I was wrong. $60 at release, no longer $40 at Amazon. I got lucky and only paid about $34 at release, though. :D
