Okay so after a mad dash to the official forums the long/indefinite load screen seems to be caused by the number of DLC packs installed. Some have reported as long as the total number of DLC present is less than 4 (aka honest hearts+ dead money + 1 perorder/item pack) it shouldn't happen. If you have 4, which means two item packs, then it may not load. Can anyone verify/deny?
It happened to me, and the only things I have for New Vegas are Dead Money and now Honest Hearts. No preorder stuff.

Are you on the 360 or PC? I forgot to add that this was from the 360 forum. Either way it shouldn't matter. Guess that fix would be too easy for New Vegas.

360. It worked fine for me after I restarted the console. We'll see if my save corrupts.
the Thompson is insane
holy shit
There damn well better be a barrel magazine mod. And one that puts it in a violin case.
So apparently the glitch is that I killed some White Leg tribal that a friendly NPC was supposed to kill, hence the reason why the main quest was shortened considerably.

I may have to roll a hunter after this. I've never been much for Survival, but some of these craftables are worth it.
The new perks are interesting, but I don't see myself actually taking them. Except maybe Grunt if I wanted to play an NCR soldier or something.
Is the .45 stuff available outside the Zion area?
yep
just bought myself a bunch of ammo at Gun Runners
Grunt is a really fabulous perk that covers a lot of great weapons; Assault Carbine, All-American, I presume the crazy strong 12.7 mm unique service rifle in the DLC, and of course the .45's. Easily the best of the bunch. I wonder if Cowboy and Grunt stack for Chance's Knife.
So, Honest Hearts finally released on Steam and it looks like the servers are crapping all over themselves. I probably should have figured since it's been trying to update Amnesia practically all day.
On checking it again, it's actually 61. Still nothing to sneeze at.
Does it have the new service rifle fire rate?
Because doing 61 damage with that sounds pretty damn good.
I'm not sure; I never bothered to use the service rifle. It shoots fairly fast, though. I know the VATS cost seems to be somewhere in the neighborhood of This Machine, as I can squeeze off four shots with both.
There's something in there called the Compliance Regulator. I didn't find it though. It's probably the only energy weapon in the whole thing, unless I'm forgetting some random laser pistols and rifles.
edit: to be fair, Old World Blues is sure to be an energy Weapons bonanza so I'm not surprised there isn't much to be had here
I mean, the expedition leader got gunned down in the ambush mentioned in the explanations online, then my goal became to retrieve the map, then go back to the entrance area and go through the "cave" which took me back to the Mojave.... then I got an ending reel... I guess I was supposed to keep the guy alive? but for an entire plot-line to revolve around one guy's survivability in a situation where allied NPCs are bound to die... that would be just retarded.
yeah that isn't supposed to happen
Which part?
I've reloaded the initial ambush 5 times and i can't keep him alive. Even tried standing right in front of him.

they always die
I read up on this earlier and it's apparently some weird alt quest you get if you kill the tribal across the bridge you need to talk to

They tried to bury us. They didn't know that we were seeds. 2018 Midterms. Get your shit together.

is it awesome?
because it sounds awesome
The setting is pretty, and the combat is a lot more like regular NV than Dead Money was.
The companion you get is funny at times, too.

you can even upgrade a Reinforced Leather Armor with gecko hides to give it an extra 5 DT, posion, fire, and rad resistance
That's pretty cool. Finally something to do with the damn gecko hides.
Previously it really wasn't worth it.

With Grunt it does like 67 damage.
the rage continues
steam put the dlc up, but errors processing transaction for purchase... damn you steam, take my monies!
Maybe I'll go grab the mountaintop guy and see if I can't find it.

the bear hands suck
it does have the shiskebab, which can be pretty awesome with the right build but it's just easier to find; you can get it in the vanilla game
don't go looking for energy weapons either
lots of fire axes, shiskebabs, and mantis gauntlets to be had
This saddens my superscientist laser guy immensely.

You already got the damn Holorifle, what else do you need?
they haven't gotten anything that's any good once you leave the DLC
Which part?

Steam/PSN/XBL/Minecraft / LoL / - Benevicious | WoW - Duckwood - Rajhek
Have other DLCs done that?

Does this up the level cap again? And what level is it targeted to? Do you have to be at a certain story point to do it or can you just go?
I already bought it, I just havent had time to load up my 360.
Origin: Galedrid - Nintendo: Galedrid/3222-6858-1045
Blizzard: Galedrid#1367 - FFXIV: Galedrid Kingshand
The level cap goes up 5 more and there are some new perks.
