Fallout New Vegas: Lonesome Road Sept 20. 2 More DLC Packs Sep 27th!
Yeah. But even killing them all, if I don't do the QUEST The ending'll still say they're swarming all over the facility, still screwin' shit up. I know it's something small, but it really just doesn't make sense.
I'm not even sure if this would work, but you might be able to swing your reputation back enough if you were to finish other PG-related quests (Vault 19, booted, nipton). I mean, I tried that but it wasn't enough for me, but maybe I took more of a rep hit since I ended up personally killing almost every powder ganger in Ghost Town Gunfight vs. letting the townsfolk do the heavy lifting. (Of course I don't even know if that makes a difference or not).
That's a pretty crap way of doing it too, 'cause you'll have to go all the way to Nipton/Legion Camp, then all the way up to Vault 19 just to try to sway things back. And it might not even work. :P
Oh yeah. I completely forgot about that one quest to free the slaves. That might work. I'd just like to add that I WAS able to end up talking to whoever it was that runs the place, and got the quest....and then he immediately started shooting at me.
Oh. Nevermind, I have to go back ANYWAY, because aparently the only save I have from BEFORE I have to shoot up have of the damn facility is back in the tutorial. Maybe I SHOULD have stopped at 4 playthroughs.
The black widow dialog options for Benny sure are something. Also the first place I'm getting black widow dialog despite picking it at character creation.

Oh man, did I fuck up. I went ahead and downloaded that Underground Hideout mod. . . The Wall, it calls to me, it commands me! Plus those mannequins ain't gonna dress themselves!
What have I done to my social life!?
Axen on
A Capellan's favorite sheath for any blade is your back.
I for one stand by the Wall. Even should another wall come along claiming Wall-hood, I shall serve the First. Unless the Wall refuses to take my OWB weapons. Then I might turncoat.
Has there been any mention of a Game of the Year Edition for this yet? I might trade in my core game and just wait on all the DLC till a GOTY is available cause it will most definitely save me money in the long run.

Did you grab the more mannequins mod too? I hadn't for a long time, but now I finally did and now I've got a mock mannequin battle down there between good mannequins and evil mannequins.
What was really fucking creepy is that I was standing in the display room in my save, then added the more mannequins mod. The newly added mannequins were all bugged out and would turn their heads when I walked by, then say "Hello". I had to leave the room and return for them to be lifeless, but I'm still going to keep my eye on them; I know those creepy things are just waitiing to kill me in my sleep.

That is the best bug ever.
Also I feel like if that happens to me, I would unload a shotgun into everything in sight.

Are there any specific things that are known to make New Vegas more likely to crash? In my first 10 hours of playtime it didn't crash at all, but in the last 2 hours of playing it's crashed three or four times. One time it was when equipping Boone's beret and the other times right after a load screen.
I think changing equipment IS a kinda crash happy thing, but I've literally never had it crash there. Though, one thing to watch out for, if you have OWB, it seems to like crashing during fast travel in Big Mt. That might just be me though.
My game crashes about every 20 minutes for looking at it wrong, but mostly on fast travel or entering/exiting buildings/rooms.
I really need to start over from ground zero with my mods and weed out everything I don't use.

Sometimes Autosave can get screwy; try turning off save on travel/exiting areas, see if you still have stability issues. Just remember to manually save/quicksave to compensate for not having the game save at those autosaving times.
I think I'm missing something here. Mr. House wants the Boomers to not shoot at his guys, but when talking with the leaders there are no dialog options about that. I'd rather not kill them. Do I just have to get my Nellis reputation up high enough?

just get your reputation up to idolized and talk to pearl
all you actually need is a vague assurance that they will cooperate with you in the future
My favorite part about the Boomers is the historian kid. I always stop there even after having done enough quests to build my rep with them, he just cracks me up. Pitch-perfect voice of a kid who has a great deal of information memorized but doesn't fully understand what he's talking about. Especially the melodramatic 'We needed a home. We needed Nellis' (I'm quoting from memory, that's probably not the exact quote).

Hmm, I haven't talked mods lately, though I have been trying out new ones. Something always catches my eye and next thing you know I'm loading on yet another.... it never ends. Anyway, in case anyone cares, a few things I've been messing with:
Electro-City - Yeah, it's been mentioned by others but I finally grabbed it. Public utilities return to the Mojave, finding any way possible to provide lighting. Street lamps, fire barrels, burning cars. If you're using Fellout or Nevada Skies or anything that makes nighttime really dark, this is a great mod that really adds to the atmosphere of it all.
Tales from the Burning Sands - A serialized adventure mod. While not heavy on combat or spoken dialogue, the creator has made an interesting questline that I enjoyed discovering. I finished the first chapter, starting the second soon; the author is working on more content.
While I'm a big proponent of the Wall, and generally find the vanilla/dlc armory more than sufficient for killing mans, I'm always intrigued with some of the weapon mods that float around. I've tried Classic Fallout Weapons in the past; while it provides a heap of stuff, there wasn't really anything I actually used. So that's gone.... yet I went ahead and grabbed two more mods (go figure!):
Nordic Firearms - Adds about a dozen weapons, mostly based on contemporary firearms. They look pretty cool though, have their own unique modding, and aren't excessively overpowering (for some of the ones I tried, looks like slightly stronger than vanilla but weaker than vanilla uniques).
AG Supplementary Uniques - OK, this seems weird, since I got rid of one big weapons mod, since this one is probably bigger. Supplementary Uniques are almost entirely based on assets in the vanilla game, just mixed and matched to create, well, unique guns. It's the kind of gunsmithing I'd expect in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Had some issues getting it working (nexus DC server had a bad file, some load conflicts), but once I figured it out it's good. Enjoying it so far.
I've also been messing with some accessories mods, stuff like Waster's Scarf, Tailor Maid, and Satchels. Kind of nice to take a stylistic approach to some of the vanilla armors, and just add stuff like bandoleers or shoulder guards or harnesses or whatever. Just finding stuff that doesn't clip with certain armors is a bit limiting though.
I also grabbed DEIMOS, another quest mod that takes place in its' own worldspace; haven't tried it yet but have heard it's not bad. Am also keeping an eye on Signature Weapons and Playing with Firepower, though I'm not really feeling ready to try 'em yet.

I feel I was denied...critical...need-to-know...INFORMATION!
Uh oh, Buttcleft's bringing his A game. I barely remember enough about II to have recognized that one.
Ummm, how about: "I am COMPLETELY out of ammo. That's never happened to me before."

That cot is down there because Dan (the UH guy) knew that the Wall would demand proximity at all times when we're not out finding weapons to feed it.

Oh man, I just realized something.
Once The Wall is complete, a new wall will emerge in the center. It will be just big enough to accommodate one human....

The Wall approves of your sig.
In all fairness, I probably wouldnt remember it if it wasnt such a useful phrase in real life.
