Mixing medication!

Now that I have your attention.. ;-)

I'm trying to figure out a good way to mix a couple medicines together for our rat. She has a liquid medicine that she's been taking for months. We just put it in a feeding syringe and let her drink it. Now we're adding an antihistamine to the mix, but to do so we have to crush a tablet and give about a tenth of it to her with her normal meds. I've got a pill crusher, and one of the week-long pill holders, and I'm sure this will be something painfully obvious when someone says so, but I'm not sure how to mix the two medicines in the syringe. Any ideas?

Try dissolving the powdered pill in water first, then mix that with the medicine.
