Most of them are due to the fact its a console and have nothing to do with the control scheme though. The only problem is auto aim is needed to a certain degree but that leads to quick scoping. Can't think of any others that are caused by the gimped controls.
You're right because they're totally different games after all
it's not like the one defining feature of either system is the control scheme right

I was talking about Blops. I thought you were too. Welp that's what I get for coming in halfway through a conversation. I do apologise.
edit: The only real difference, as far as I know, between the MW2 versions was the control scheme (unlike BLops which had servers). So...I'm still not really understanding the original comment... What are these 80% of problems which effect the console version that doesn't occur on the PC due to the KBAM? Teleporting knifers, tubers, phantom harriers?

oh god this entire discussion was had on the basis of a misunderstanding
sorry
but yeah, 80% we don't have to deal with. Tubers and witches are the 20% but even witches aren't really that big of a deal because they're so easy to kill with a mouse. Quickscoping isn't a problem, getting penetration kills is downright easy on PC (in fact it's a bit of a forte of mine), etc, etc.
Blops I hear is a clusterfuck no matter where you play it

The console players don't have a superiority complex.
BLOPS sucks. MW2 sucks but is occasionally fun.

I think the deal is that IW is single player and Sledgehammer is MP.
What this means is that they probably won't pay any attention to any suggestions, then slam out some broken unplayable entirely unbalanced game. A game that we will play for another year, bitch about continuously, then get excited for the next installment like a bunch of naive middle school girls looking for their next boyfriend, thinking "He'll be the one..."

WRONG!
Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games are co-developing the single-player portion, while Raven Software develops the game's multiplayer.
It's kind of sad Raven won't get any credit from the fans and media for the online portion of the game. I doubt many people even realize three studios are tasked with making Modern Warfare 3. Infinity Ward will probably get all the credit for the entire product. Sledgehammer and Raven aren't even listed on the front of the box.

Raven wasn't.
Poor Raven Software. What I said wasn't false, though, if that's what you're implying. Raven has actually worked on Call of Duty multiplayer content before, but this time it appears they're given a larger role than just creating map packs. I'm sure Infinity Ward is dictating what they want and don't want, however.

No, I was trying to say that they really aren't getting any credit, you're right
but with a name like raven software I can't blame activision for making that choice

Ah. Usually when I mention Raven is behind the multiplayer for MW3, they just go, "Huh? What?"
I actually like Raven's portfolio. They've been around for quite awhile (and are based in my state!) and I've enjoyed their games growing up. I just hope their recent layoffs last year haven't hurt them too much. They did create the Call of the Dead zombie map for Black Ops' Escalation map pack, though, so fingers crossed for them doing good work on Modern Warfare 3's multiplayer.

I have fond memories of Soldier of Fortune and Jedi Knight, although Jedi Knight basically amounted to "wait by cliff, force grip people off cliff"
I wonder how they will handle multiplayer in MW3 on the PC. Dedicated servers is pretty rad and all but it sucks balls when trying to play with a couple of friends and constantly ending up on the wrong team thanks to autobalancing if there even is room on the server for everyone.
I actually hope the party system from MW2 still is in the game.

I know... but its just so darn simple and easy to get 4-5 friends together, form a party and hit the play button instead of playing whack a mole on a server browser screen. The best would be some combination of the 2 worlds of course.
if we get anything on PC where I have to wait five minutes before randomly being able to join a game and still having no real guarantee that the game I join will be playable instead of just being able to hit a button and seeing a beautiful, sexy list of games I can join with little numbers beside them telling me exactly how responsive my game will feel when I join them I am holding you personally responsible

I tend to agree with that. Finding a decent server to play blops on was frustrating at best for me. Anything that was <100 ping and not some bullshit nuketown 24/7 was rare and usually always full. If I was back on the east coast that probably wouldn't have been an issue. MW2 was usually pretty quick to throw me in a game that I wanted to play.
However I do believe I may be in the minority on this stance.

I honestly hope the pc version has dedicated servers because if I was anywhere else I know that's what I would want. Besides, I've gotten rather proficient shooting mans on the xbox.
I never knew that servers could suck for people outside of the party-system, I've been East coast all my life and Quebec seems to love itself some shooters my ping is always from 30-50 when I want to find a game. See, the MW3 thread is teaching me empathy.
You wanna know the advantage of consoles? When you go to the PA thread for a predominantly console game you don't have to endure post after mindnumbing post of specs, tech problems and comparisons of the deals from various retailers.
Game set match. 8-)
Spoiler: Although the above comes from a real pet peeve it is still a mostly loving jab at you PC dudes. It is not meant to be taken seriously.
