Harry Potter Complete is probably unlikely, considering how the first game was set up. In Star Wars Complete, everything could be shoved into a larger cantina, but Harry Potter's world doesn't work like that.
What do you mean? Diagon Alley/Leaky Cauldron work just fine to transition between years. I mean, if it worked for years 1-4, why wouldn't it work for 1-7?
Hogwarts, though. That's the real hub for everything, and it's heavily tied into the plot. Would years 1-4 have Hogwarts completely unaltered, while years 5-7 have an entirely different Hogwarts?
Going by the events of the book...I could see them doing that, yes.
Hell, technically speaking year 7 shouldn't even have Hogwarts as a hub at all from a story perspective

Just a quick question before I purchase Lego SW 3: Are there any nagging downsides on the Wii version? For some reason I've read players of the Wii version state that the game looks really inferior to PS3/360/PC versions. Now I don't have a problem with smaller resolution, but if it gets to the point where you'll miss details or splitscreen becomes more annoying due to it, I might just get it for the PC.
Not played SW3, but having played SW Complete, Indy and Batman on Wii, then moved to HP on 360, the Wii games are perfectly playable and the waggle is thankfully optional. The 360 version just looks prettier for obvious hardware reasons.

I don't see why it would. Granted, the last one I played on Wii was SW OT.
I wouldn't go the PC route though. I got Lego HP on PC (on sale for $6) and there are some serious game stopping glitches that STILL have not been patched. I don't know if LSWIII has any similar issues, but the fact they haven't fixed HP doesn't inspire confidence.
Lego Harry Potter is just glitchy in general, I think. In the Wii version, I managed to bug out the Gryffindor common room door by having Snape open the Slytherin door. So watch out for that, make sure you only use students on them.
I got Lego Pirates today- man it's fun. It took me a few minutes of "huh?" before I understood how Jack's compass worked. I really like how the puzzles have GIANT arrows pointing to them so it's easier to tell my son "Put the key on that crank, it has the HUGE arrow pointing to it" where before it's like "Ok, use your force powers and move that block over to the brown thing...no the OTHER brown thing"
Me and the wife have played tons of the LEGO games on the 360 (Star Wars complete, Indy 1&2, Batman, HP).
I think my personal favorite was HP (most puzzles, least combat, although it froze a bunch of times on us).
We're trying to play through Clone Wars right now, and it's been very frustrating. Coming from HP it seems way more difficult. The sections where they split you up have been particularly annoying; in the previous games if there was a tough area I could power us both through it. The vehicle levels are also problematic, but I remember they were a pain in the Complete Saga as well. I'm impressed by the huge armies they can put on the screen, but I'll admit even I sometimes lose track of what's going on.
We did download the Pirates demo, and that seems a lot more along the lines of what we are used to.

Are the 3DS titles the same as the console versions?
Started Lego SW 3 today, it's amazing. Only issue so far was low framerate on one ground-battle level. Love the ground battles, just beat the first one where you can set up your own bases. Will these increase in scale? I hope there will be more enemies attacking my bases later on, otherwise shield generators might be worthless. I really wonder how battles with all buildings and units unlocked, coupled with a decent number of control points would play out like, it can only get better! Also, I read somewhere that there's a whole "sidequest" revolving around taking control of planets through ground wars, where can I access these? I can target specific systems in the hub and change my location to them, but that's it.

I have all the rest. Got both "double treasures" then earned enough for the 10x (while trying to remember where the 8x was). The others fell quickly. 7680x is GO!
