    Are extra points for winning a round in the standard rules? I forget, but it seems excessive.

    That particular rule, as stated in the OP, is subject to change if enough players decide it should. The changes would also be retroactive, which would mean #pipe losing those extra 3 points.

    Winning rounds giving bonus points is totally part of every version of the game I've ever even heard of. Maybe with so many players it shouldn't be...? But I'm cool with the game resembling the version I originally played.

    and "are" is a verb
