School me on Paintball Masks (SOLVED)
Deebaseron my way to work in a suit and a tieAhhhh...come on fucking guyRegistered Userregular
So I played paintball for the first time in a few years on saturday and will go a few more times this summer. However, my mask kept fogging up like a mirror in a steamy bathroom.
So, I'm looking to get my own mask with 'thermal lenses' or 'no fog' or whatever it's called for sub $100. Any recommendations?
I was at a paintball event over the weekend and there were some general fogging issues due to humidity. This one fellow swore that if you take a small amount of liquid hand soap and rub it over the lens just enough to leave a thin film that it will prevent fogging. Not a ton of soap to obscure the vision mind you. I didn't try it but it might be worth a shot if you have problems in the future.
I do a lot of scuba diving and I trick I was shown is rubbing the inside of your mask with toothpaste and washing it out prior to the first use that day. It really helps with diving masks and I would imagine it would work for a paintball mask too.

Just try a few on that are labeled "no fog" and see what you like. Comfort is most important, as the "no fog" capability is essentially the same.
