Man, that looked terrible
What's all this flying and flipping bullshit
The thing I loved about SR was their commitment to providing a gritty, realistic experience while the other games in the genre were getting more outrageous and ridiculous.

So I finally got around to getting SR2 running reasonably well on my comp. Thus, I'll be available for some coopin' whenever. Is there any way to manually change the resolution for the game? It doesn't have the one resolution that I would prefer to run it in.
Oh and that trailer was awesome! I can't wait to see more SR3 at E3.

why shoot a gun when you can wear giant over-sized boxing gloves called "Apoca-fist" that instantly vaporize anyone you punch?
the core mechanic of the driving experience has been completely overhauled. Car handling is a lot more fast, fluid and fun, and leaves you open to doing some insane stunts in the open-world setting.
There are some outlandish cars, too, such as one that features the giant head of Johnny Gat on the hood smoking a cigarette that shoots out flames. Then there's Professor Genki’s Super Ballistic Manapult, which features a giant cannon on the roof that can suck up people (or even yourself) and then shoot them out.
The coolest air vehicle was the Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) Jet, which can seamlessly switch from hover to jet mode in an instant. It also lets you shoot missiles and laser beams. LASER BEAMS!
Hahaha - the manapult sounds like so much fun - because I really didn't cause enough random death to bystanders last time, now they can be a form of AMMO.
I feel like this game was made for kids like me who didn't separate their toys but tossed them all in. Time for GIJoe and the lego legion to unite against the giant baby doll salvaged from a closet.
Idol, promise me, promise that you will mod in the shotgun-person-launcher-thing. I need a combination of vehicle and mobile man-launching. Even if you need to break into Volition's buildings and swipe the necessary tools off their hard drive, then it must be done.
GOTR has enabled things that must never be undone.
So, I've been gone for awhile, and am currently on a very bad computer, and cant really do much at the moment. Including looking at the awesome things that are going to be in Saints row 3.
Can someone give me a mind blowing list of awesome things?

Man.
Despite my love for my favorite development studio just down the road from me (Champaign/Urbana FTW, Volition guys shoot at my uncle's gun range), I kinda overlooked Saint's Row 2 until a Steam sale. Everyone said BUY IT BUY IT!!! ... so I did. Idol invited me to the group, and when I got a chance I finally swung around and played it.
... And loved it so much that I have trouble going back to GTAIV.
After seeing that vid... This is my #1 anticipated game of the year. I cannot express how much I want to play this thing, and I personally want to shake the hand of everyone making it.
And to think, Idol is only gonna make it better! I hope the Volition guys talk to you at some point during the development process to see how they can help you.
Edit: No, seriously. Volition made Descent, Descent 2, both Freespace games, and the Saint's Row line, along with so many great things. While Blizzard, Valve, and Relic are higher for me, all these guys just ROCK.

I must have watched that trailer like 10 times today. I love it for confirming the shenanigans I adored from SR2 are back and dialed up to 11.
Did anyone catch the quote from the dev interview: "In true Saints fashion, they say "No Thank you, we'd like to do this ourselves"". I lol'd; the the last time a gang wanted to cut a deal with the Saints, you spent the next 5 missions systematically maiming each of the heads of the Brotherhood.

Yes, but was only because Maero offered a mere 20%. I'm sure if he'd made a more reasonable offer all that nastiness could've been avoided.

You know, I've thought about that set of missions before, and I gotta agree with the Saint's position on the Brotherhood. They ran the WHOLE FUCKING CITY before, come back, and are taking it over very quickly again. You want them to give up on what is rightfully theirs?
Now granted how the missions proceed from there is rather fucked up, but you can't really fault the logic of the boss there.
Also Maero was a disrespectful prick, so that didn't help.
IdolNinja, My face looks like your avatar right now, geo mod?!
Well, they never did rule it completely out. They just said something like (I'm paraphrasing) :
"We can't really include it in SR3 due to the processing power required for it for open world with all the other stuff going on. But it could show up in some small capacity."
Initially I figured it would show up in one of the activities or diversions as a self contained thing. But what if they meant that only certain situations it could be used (like with the VTOL lasers?)

I loved that part. It really looked like Angel hurt that guy's face.
You may want to give Gibbed's original resolution editor a try:
http://blog.gib.me/2009/01/06/saints-row-2-resolution-editor/
What resolution are you trying to use btw? The 1.2 patch should have already added all the 16:10 resolutions.

The resolution I was looking for was 1280x768.
EDIT: Lame TOTP, so here's this:

November 15 was confirmed verbally by Greg Donovan (Lead Producer) in this video interview:

All the marketing this game needs is
