Is anyone else unable to view the SR3 steam page? When I try to go there I get
"Sorry, but you're not permitted to view these materials at this time."
    Why not? D:

I read that IGN article and it talks about car surfing. Sweet.

My nephew wanted his copy of sr2 back, so I was a nice guy and gave it back. I don't have any money to buy it right now. I am going to finish some other games. September is mostly over, and working on our new house will make October go faster. I hope. :)

Guys, was the DLC for Saints Row 2 worth getting? For "story" I mean? Corporate Warfare and Ultor Exposed. They are on sale on PSN until the new store update hits later today.

    No.
Srsly? OK. I mean usually I'm all about story-extending DLC but even on sale it is pretty expensive.

Each one was about, I think, five missions worth. One was "Tera Patrick wants revenge on Ultor", and the other was "Corporate Exec I've never seen before wants revenge on Ultor."

Sexy Zombie Jesus' milkshake brings all the boys to the yard.

Aw shit. Now my disenchanted British boss and his out of touch eighties fashion needs to compete with Sexy Zombie Jesus.

That wasn't the important part of the story though. The important part was the Boss working with Ultor to take out Dex, a former Saint (now Ultor Security Chief) who now has delusions of grandeur. The Boss takes revenge, very, very seriously.

Plus it shows how Ultor and the Saints stop becoming enemies and start being partners.

So at Walmart the other day I noticed something: a sticker on the Saints Row double pack for the Initiation Station.

This makes me sad, because I bought the double pack BEFORE the sticker was on it and now I can't get to work making Balalaika/Chopsocky/Eldritch Horror/Blob Boss before the game releases.

So on a Brotherhood mission, I shot down a chopper which crashed into another chopper and had both flaming wrecks falling towards me as I leap off the ship.

    It was basically Die Hard.

So, I picked up a PS3 copy of Saint's Row 2, but I haven't unboxed it yet. I'm tempted to find a copy for the PC (steam has it for 15, whereas the PS3 copy was 20) and return the console version. How hard is it to get it to work on the PC? I know I'm missing out on the mod scene, but I don't know if I'm missing enough there to be too sad about that part.

The OP has a link to the SR2 PC FAQ I wrote up. Make sure to give it a read before even considering purchasing it. You may be surprised at just what kind of hardware you need to run the game well.

You can get SR2 PC for $8 retail boxed from Amazon, or digital download for $11. Both versions come with a key you can plug right in to Steam to activate.

Well, there is a ton of fun to be had with the console versions of SR2, and it is definitely a smoother and lessy buggy experience than PC. There is also two DLC releases which are only available on console.

The GotR mod for SR2 PC fixes and smooths over the minor rough spots of the game, and also adds a lot of new content like extra clothing, paint, customization, vehicles, weapons, and other options. Plus, the PC version is going to look a lot better with higher resolutions, and AA. The GotR mod even adds better looking weather conditions that remove the haze and smear in the vanilla version giving the game a more vibrant and colorful look.

My point is that both versions have their pros and cons. Personally, I find it extremely difficult going back to console after playing it on PC. The console version just feels very limited to me now.

If you do decide to go PC, make sure to get the latest beta of Powertools that auto adjusts the timescale. I also highly recommend using the latest v1.9 beta of GotR instead of the extremely dated stable release of v1.8. The latest betas of v1.9 are very stable at this point and only need a couple of small things finished before release. All of this stuff mentioned is linked in the FAQ and my site.

    What a shame.

Given the colour scheme, the two in blue and black are probably Deckers. I hope we get to use that rocket... scythe... hammer... thing.

Well, we've seen protagonist shots in non-purple before.

What really matters is that if they don't give me a glowy jacket, I'm going down to Volition HQ and smacking them around a little with a dildo bat. And I will be entirely justified.

  • Dox the PIDox the PI Registered User regular
Yeah. Blue/Black/Stab/Tron is the check list for the Deckers and that pic ticks all the boxes.
That Saint in the middle of the first pic has some some sweet mods on the pistol.

For a computer nerd... that Deckers chick has some musclely legs...

My week off from work is going to be stressful. Its going to be stressful because I cannot play Skyrim and Saint's Row 3 at the same time...
