For the love of God, help me find a good monitor!

Here's the deal, my Samsung 206bw went out on me. This was my 2nd replacement from Samsung (so, I had 3 monitors in total). I first replaced it with an Acer, which was just a pile of garbage. Then I got an LG E2370V. Great monitor. Awesome color and great viewing angles. One big problem though. Nasty amount of light bleeding in on the right bottom corner and all along the right side. Major bummer. IPS tech seems pretty awesome.
So, now here I am with a ViewSonic VX2450wm. Seems to be a pretty great monitor. Except the viewing angle goes to absolute shit starting at mid horizon point. Bottom of the screen looks great, top looks like ass.
At this point, I'm not against spending $400+ on a monitor. Heres the deal though....
It can't be a Samsung (I've had too many of their electronics be crap to trust them anymore) or LG (light bleeding seems to be a huge problem with them and their IPS tech).
Who do I go to? I need something with ungodly great viewing angles (I've gotten spoiled by my Plasma TV for sure) and accurate colors.
I've got one of the 20" Dell Ultrasharps, which are IPS monitors. When I bought mine, I think it was around 200$ per monitor, but I know when they put the 23" Ultrasharp on sale now, it usually comes in around 230$ or something. Either way, I've had this monitor for over five years, and it's still going strong. Good colour, great viewing angles, and no pixel problems.

From what I understand, Dell (and HP) use LG screens in their IPS monitors. So, yeah.
I have a lovely, shiny new Dell monitor. I love it. Its a 21.5in ST2220M UK Full HD WLED Widescreen Monitor (VGA and DVI-D) at least what the order says! I traded in a crappy old monitor, through Dell's recycling programme, and got back almost what I paid for this new one.

i just picked up an Asus PA246q from newegg. IPS panel, 24.1" diagonal, 6ms response time, 1920 x 1200 native resolution.
it's a pretty good monitor, on at least par with the Dell U2410. Asus seems to be having QC problems with dead/stuck pixels, though, so be careful (Newegg was nice enough to do a few RMAs until i got a stuck/dead pixel free monitor)

So, I've settled on getting the NEC EX231W-BK (I'd like a EX231WP-BK, but I don't think anyone has em since they're brand new). We'll see how it works out.

Avoiding an LG panel is going to rule out the vast majority of lower-priced IPS monitors.
That said, there is a not-so-painful (~800 USD) Lacie monitor (LACIE 324(130778)) which is a 24" model.
