I'm after a fairly specific type of music: something like the sort of jazzy parts of Pink Floyd. My favourite parts of Pink Floyd (my favouritest band) are the instrumental jazzy bits, like in most of Wish You Were Here or Dark Side. Are there any bands that make this sort of music exclusively? Doesn't have to be new or old, I don't mind. I'm after something like Atom Heart Mother, Time, Brain Damage, Eclipse, Money, One Of These Days, Echoes (especially Echoes), Have A Cigar (also especially this), Wish You Were Here.
Something I can sample for free on youtube would be ideal.
On an unrelated note, I heard Stairway to Heaven all the way through for the first time tonight, if I wanted to give Led Zeppelin a shot is there an album I should try first or are they all as good as each other?
Do you mean you like the FUNKY parts of Pink Floyd? In almost every album they have a little Easter Egg funk like break down. In the middle of the Atom Heart Mother suite, in the middle of Dogs, I think, they have a break down. Any Colour You Like from Dark Side of the Moon. Etc.
So... do you like just really good jammin, competent, instrumentals?

The music they made around the same time as Stairway to Heaven was the best, in my opinion. Their later albums just didn't have the same catchy beats - they seemed to use more silly effects on the vocals and instruments that I didn't particularly care for. All in all, I prefer Led Zeppelin through IV.
Just working through the recommendations now, and that Matching Mole song is exactly what I'm after, thanks a lot for that.. Caravan seems ok, but not great. Good enough that I'll give a few more of their songs a shot.
Similar in a lot of ways. Great vocals. Half Japanese records sound almost entirely different every record but, We Are They Who Ache with Amorous Love might be something you'd dig.

Sister Machine Gun may be up your alley. My two favorite songs by them, from their Metropolis album:
Matching Mole, Soft Machine, and Can were spot on exactly what I was after, thanks a lot. Those other ones are alright, but don't quite scratch that itch. Although King Crimson was pretty boss.
I now have Led Zeppelin 1-4, will look at the others later if I like those. Thanks for the recommendation.
Half Japanese isn't really what I'm after, thanks anyway. They seem more like punk, and I've never been a big punk fan (outside of Dead Kennedys).
Animals As Leaders might be a bit too heavy, but I'll throw it at the wall and see if it sticks. I haven't listened to that much by them, but I think they're all instrumental.
AnteCantelope, just to help you clarify your ability to search for similar bands, Matching Mole and Soft Machine both fall under a loose umbrella of bands approximately defined as "Canterbury" and happen to share Robert Wyatt as a driving force in their sound. I'm a big fan of another group called Hatfield & the North, though they can rub some people the wrong way because of a certain smooth jazz vibe.
Can is one of the defining krautrock band. Some folks prefer groups like Neu! and Amon Duul II, but for me Can's holy triumvirate of "Tago Mago", "Ege Bamyasi", and "Future Days" are pretty much unfuckwitable. Similar-but-different to krautrock, you might want to check out some Fela Kuti and the afrobeat scene. If Halleluwah is your jam, "Water No Get Enemy" should get your head proper.
For some more modern stuff related to these things, explore the whole roster of Cuneiform Records, as this field of fusion-type things is what they're about.
I pretty much prefer Can out of that whole genre as well. Love Neu and especially Amon Duul II, but when people say Krautrock, it's either Kraftwerk, Neu, or Can and I think Can just did it best.
Future Days is an amazing album. Moonshake is the best pop song ever written.

The Far East Family Band might have some of what you are looking for.
