That likely means too many people are accessing the store.
I just got logged, but the eShop is not updated yet.
I'm not sure. It's been happening for three days running, and I've never once been able to connect to the store. I've tried at odd hours each day, multiple times. I think there's something else wrong, but my Google-fu is not up to par, and the search results I get aren't clarifying the problem.

Holy shit, did they just release a 3D-ified version of Donkey Kong '94? Or are the games under the completely wrong labels?
Edit: Oh, this layout is retarded. I think this is on 3DS Virtual Console even though they don't fucking label it but DO label the Wii one. Confusing as fucking hell.
Downloaded Donkey Kong, as I've never played it before. Loved the fake out after the first four levels.
For those wondering, there actually a good way to browse the entire DSiWare library. Just go to the Search option (not the bar on the bottom, but the whole option) and you can filter the search so that every DSiWare title shows up.
And you know, thanks to the friendlier browsing of the eShop, there are a lot of titles I didn't notice before that are getting my attention. There's some really interesting stuff in the DSiWare library.
How is dragon's lair? I remember that from when I was younger but never played it. Just saw it on DSiware
Very compressed but still intact, supposed to be a decent port.
However, Dragon's Lair is a game you can definitely watch the entirety of on Youtube and not be missing much. You're just pushing buttons to make the video keep playing.
You're not a real Paper Mario fan if you can't tell that Paper Mario 3DS is new. If you are new to the series it shouldn't matter if it was a port because you owe it to yourself to play either of the first two as well.

I can't believe how many people have asked if Paper Mario was a port since the video of it showed up a year ago. It's been easy to tell from the start.

I really hope it's still in early development or something.
In the E3 video I saw no companions and the little battle stage was a barren grey/white checkerboard...

I thought it looked pretty awesome. Colorful with that unmistakable art style that screams Paper Mario.
I'm sure it'll have companions, it's a staple of the series. Even Super Paper Mario had them.

He has chomp and wiggler partners for example. I am hoping the alter them slightly to give them more personality ala thousand year door

I have a podcast now. It's about video games and anime!Find it here.
Must be a different E3 video then the one on the 3DS store. The 2010 video as mentioned featured a chain chomp and wiggler, the 2011 video I saw had a toad (bit boring but ok) as a partner.

I think if those battle effects they're doing are going to crush the scene to 2D for the fancy 3D paper effects, they should make it change the perspective to the side view like in Super Paper Mario. It's really jarring when you see the scene's depth just disappear so the enemies can peel off the screen in 3D, or whatever.
I hope they stick to the decent storylines that the first two Paper Mario's had. I'm also glad they decided to go back to the turn style RPG that the first two had as well. Super Paper Mario was fun, but I just did not enjoy it nearly as much as the first two. I only got through SPM once, I know I have beaten Paper Mario at least 5 times, and PM:TYD more than that.

I liked Super Paper Mario quite a bit, but there's waaaay too much talking.
And I am a person who thinks Xenosaga could have used more talking.
I lost track of reading the last thread around the time the eshop channel came out, but I feel this is important to note in case it hasn't been noted yet for the eshop and linking with your Club Nintendo account. so. *IMPORTANT*
If you have a space in your name (or password I guess, who knows what they let you get away with back in the day) It will give you an invalid username/password error when you try to link your eshop account to your Club Nintendo account.
Back in the day, a name change required a higher up in the chain of command to authorize this (I know, I went through a login name change years ago). It took me 35 minutes with a customer service rep at Nintendo day 1 of eshop to help me figure out why I couldn't link eshop to Club Nintendo, and another 5 minutes to find out he didn't have to escalate me as a ticket, you can change your username on the Club Nintendo website now while you're logged in!
If anyone is having the same problem, and this has not been mentioned yet, I hope I save you from some headaches.

I was always confused as to why the 3DS didn't launch with a red color option. I mean, the logo and all of the promotional materials focus on the color - I wouldn't have been surprised (would any of us?) to have seen the system launch with red and blue - no all-black. That being said, I'm glad that they gave us the black, because I prefer it to the brighter options on this particular system.

Hmm, I see. That is quite fascinating.
I assume you're letting us know about this because Nintendo is making it available in a coming update?
I nipped into Gamestation this lunch time to trade in Ghost Trick (incidentally, one of the best games I've ever played), and I was pleasantly surprised to see that Orarina of Time was out - I'd completely forgotten the date
The instruction manual is a foldout sheet rather than a book, which seems odd. Sadly that's as far as I've got because I'm at work
I don't know if the Wii Shop thread or here is the best place to talk about 3DS VC titles, but I'm really enjoying Donkey Kong '94 on Game Boy! I'd never played it before, but I had played Mario vs. Donkey Kong on GBA, and this is the obvious predecessor of that lineage, before it went all Lemmings-clone. A puzzle-platformer with tight Mario controls is definitely worth $3.99.
Okay guys I'm going to give you a list of games, and the price I can get on a new copy of each and I want you to tell much which ONE I should get.
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon -- $17
Steeldiver -- $12.50
Splinter Cell 3D -- $17
Pilotwings Resort -- $17
Nintendogs & Cats: Golden Retriever -- $17
If you have any love for SRPGs (Fire Emblem in particular), definitely pick up Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars! Made by the original X-Com creator, a very competent tactical RPG that relies on a small squad of dudes, each with unique jobs/skillsets. The graphics show it's clearly a DS up-port, but I really like how the 3-D is implemented (makes it feel like a living board game, as many have termed it).
Pilotwings might be worth that amount; I ended up not liking it very much after putting a few hours in, but a lot of people here liked it a lot, and it does have very impressive 3-D implementation. But between that and Shadow Wars, I'd definitely push for the latter.
Oh shit I didn't realize Ghost Recon was like Fire Emblem. I think that'll be my choice!
I don't blame you—Ubisoft has done a great job of hiding the fact that it's a strategy RPG. :? UncleSporky turned me on to it, and it's really rad. Imagine Fire Emblem's focus on individual units (a small squad of typically 6 units, each with different jobs like gunner, medic, stealth ninja, etc.) with Advance Wars' CO powers and focus on ranged fire. You have to account for cover and line of sight/range, plus you occasionally can capture flags/rally points that give you rechargable CO powers, but you have to keep your entire squad alive, so if any of them die you have to restart. I still haven't finished it (it's quite long), and it's somewhat linear in terms of character progression and how the game plays out, but all in all it's an excellent launch title.

Some (I) really enjoy pilotwings, some find it lacking in content.
Steeldiver is generally held to be unimpressive and Splinter Cell is generally held to be poop from a butt.
Nintendogs, is well, Nintendogs. You know what you're getting into there and whether it'll be your thing or not.
In other news I should be getting home to Zelda today!
