I'm a little curious about podcasts, as I've never really listened to them
I think I would if I had a long commute and liked music less, maybe
can someone explain them to me? it's mostly dudes talking about tech/game news to one another for an hour a week, right?
Yeah, I tend to listen to podcasts when I'm at work or just doing chores around the house. I have a fair amount of music, but sometimes I just want to hear a bunch of people talk about something I like.
If you ever feel like listening to a podcast out of curiousity, I'd reccomend The Moth. It's an ongoing collection of true stories from people talking on stage to a live audience. Episodes are generally between 10-20 minutes, so there's not much of a commitment. The stories come from people of all walks of life, so if you don't care for the person who's talking, it's easy to just skip to another episode and get an entirely different experience.
But I'll also second This American Life and You Look Nice Today.
Of course after a year of that Ryan and the others basically said the podcast was too long and they had to cut it since no one actually cared about Nintendo DSiware
But the fans wanted more and Jeff refused to give in so he started his own rival podcast called the Nintendownload X-Press and it was the best podcast every created
The Persona 4 endurance run is my favorite series of videos on the Internet. I was so sad when I finished watching it that I started episode one again right away... Yeah my life is not very exciting.
I haven't noticed that. With regard to what? Anything come to mind
The most recent one I can think of was before one of the thursday night throwdowns from last month (right as the video kicked in), Ryan yelled at one of the interns to shut up b/c basically nobody can be talking when he introduces everyone.
Did anyone here enjoy the 1up podcasts back in the day? Specifically, 1up Yours (particularly, John Davidson, Shane Bettenhausen, Luke Smith and Garnett Lee) and GFW Radio (Shawn Elliott, Jeff Green)
Those two podcasts are the only other two game podcasts I've listened to that were on par with the Bombcast in terms of personality.
I think I made a thread back when Ziff took a dive and everybody either left or was laid off, but I don't think it got any response. This was a few years ago and podcasts weren't quite as prevalent, though.
Most game podcasts I check out these days are hosted by vapid, charisma-less cunts.
I listened to a recent 1up podcast that is the successor to the successor of 1up yours a few days ago out of curiosity. It was a few grown men and two girls. They flirted the entire podcast in the most immature, unprofessional way. Like, high school shit. Constant references to sex and genitalia. Flirty giggling. One of the girls references one of the guys dongs at one point. It was the worst dogshit I've ever heard. Awkward fucking people being fucking awkward.

If you want a sample before you subscribe, might I suggest listening to The Good Part.
It is my favourite one.
Need some stuff designed or printed? I can help with that.
which means I probably agree with them
hmm
This is an ongoing 14-part series selecting the best moments from the Quick Looks
It is hours of entertainment.
There are also a number of Compilations of the best moments from the Podcasts though they tend to be pretty messy.
Yeah, they don't have a set topic, they have lots and lots and lots of tangents
I'd recommend Guaranteed Morrie, Early Bird, and The Good Part.

They've basically thrown that site under the bus
If they don't plan to hire anyone to actually work for that site, they'll probably just shut the whole thing down
Also I'm a big fan of this video, since it has the Afterburner Climax quick look
Which has the best Glengarry Glen Ross joke ever made

The this year collections of Hotspot hi lights seem pretty good albeit horrifically long.

Just about everybody on that show got on my nerves
i think maybe you have missed out on a large portion of the joke
if you don't count Leigh Alexander that one time
Garnett Lee started out ok but he got pretty annoying
Dan Hsu is boring, and the bitmob podcast is TERRIBLE
