Replacing a Red Ringed 360 - What is the best value?

My 360 just died on me today after 3 years of faithful service :(

Suppose that means I am in the market for a new one. I would prefer one of the new slim models for HDMI but depending on price, I would be willing to stay with the old version. I dont want the arcade/4gig models as I have a lot of arcade titles purchased.

The best value I have found so far is on amazon. http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B0047Y9BGE/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&qid=1308256163&sr=8-11&condition=used

Is there anywhere that has it cheaper? Like maybe the Xbox S 250gig HD with nothing else for 250$?

You can get the old-style 360 from Gamestop for $199, and if you ask nicely they'll find you an Elite with HDMI. Comes with a 1yr warranty, and it'll accept the snap-on hard disk from your current xbox. The new ones won't take the old HD!

I did this for a while, but eventually broke down and bought a new one. Got the old one repaired and now I have two!

Gamestop has the old 20gb ones for $100 used.

Be sure it's not still under the 3 year warranty. If you haven't already, go to the Microsoft Xbox site and go through the process of making a ticket. It will ask you questions, and for the serial number. It should tell you if it's under warranty or not before you'd have to supply any important details like payment methods and such. if you've already done this, I apologize, and am sorry for the loss of your 360.

If it's still under warranty, you could get it repaired, sell it, and use that money towards a Slim if you're really set on one of those.

This is what I came to recommended. Also, I was going to mention that you can get an "Arcade" version and use your old HD, that's what I did.

Also, you could always get a new hard drive case and use your old hard drive in a 4gb model.
