Yorick seems a little blase compared to other newer champs, but maybe we just don't know the optimal sort of build for him yet
I think one of the problems is they sort of touted him as a big summoner hero, and all his summons last 5 seconds except the Revenant. Maybe if they like lasted longer every level it would be nice.
Before I saw the ult in game I also thought that the revive from Yoricks ult was like, permanent back to life, without seeing it as Yorick the description of it is a bit vague, IIRC it just says if they die while the revenant is still up, they get revived, it doesn't say they die over time like the revenant.

Just make the ghosts a little tougher to kill, something that requires some thought.
A bit more resistant to AoE damage, maybe.
I think that, especially if the ghouls are going to die in 5 seconds anyway, they should maybe just be untargetable till they die.

Ugh. So I've come to terms with the fact that I'm just bad at some champions. (In before somebody fixes that for me, truncating the sentence to omit the last 3 words.)
Have been playing Vayne for like 5 days, mostly spending those 5 days getting blown the fuck up in every team fight. Decided Vayne can go eat a bag. Returned to my old love, Irelia.
Heimer was level 11 with like 8 wins, and just fed fed fed. Didn't know how to do anything really, we were sure it was going to be a loss because he was soloing top. Nasus DC'd for 5 minutes early, and otherwise he was a subpar player as well.
But Nunu and Singed. Man, those boys knew their shit. I pulled out "Alas, poor Yorick" on every damn kill I got on him. Only person that was decently hard to kill was Malphite. Once Nunu got his Deathcap and I got my Gunblade on though, GG.
I'm still so giddy from that win. That was probably the most satisfying win I've ever had, solely because of the fact that at 20 minutes, we were down 2 towers, 6 kills. Me and Nunu were the only people with Kills and Assists. Then something clicked, and Nunu Singed and I just started wrecking house. Never lost a tower, regularly took them on 3v5 picking off Teemo, Fiddles, and Poppy first.
Forgive me Ionia, for I have sinned. I will not stray from the true path of Irelia.

Can they be controlled? Because if I can just send in a dude to attack you under your tower and you're shit out of luck then that's BS.
Make him a true summoner/pet class and have them last a good chunk of time 10-15 seconds and take a little thought to bring down.
Nope, you cannot control them in any way, they do what they want. They do target champions if they're close, but they don't do enough damage on their own to do more than harass. I think maybe not targetable by champions but targetable by towers might work.

no you can't control them for the most part. Q ghost attacks whatever you hit next, W (slow ghost) is a selected area then he hits whatever, E ghost (lifesteal) you select a target in the radius and he goes after them
you can harass at range with E but it doesn't do much
she was that weak early game yes
her old passive allowed her to scale better than every other champion in the game though, so she was one of the best late game characters
now she'll probably be less terrible early and less dominant late, which sounds good
Shen looks upon you, and his judgement is stern, but you are welcome and forgiven for your straying.
Thanks Master Ninja!
Seriously. You all know those weeks where you've just had a fucked up week, and that one win just makes you want to go out and give kittens to everyone. (Or Skittles. Hell Yes Skittles.) I'm going to go get skittles now. Fuck League of Legends. If I play, I'll lose. I'm going to ride this win until tonight.

Guys I don't care how bad Yorick is.

It's funny because when Orianna came out, weren't they like, "She's just the precursor to the true pet champion!"
Because I think they're wrong
morello actually went out of the way (some time ago) to say that he doesn't consider orianna or yorick to be "true pet champions"
orianna is just someone who can modify the location of her spells based on a moveable trigger
yorick is a necromancer-type, someone who goes through disposable minions rapidly
what morello and riot would perceive as a true pet champion would be someone who had one pet out most of the time and controlled it alongside their character for the majority of the game
so i just realized the kerning is off on Yorick in the loading screen so it looks like Yo rick

Oh ok
Because I thought they meant Yorick was supposed to be the true pet champ
Which I'd say Orianna still is more, regardless that her Ball is more of a spell focus, because you have to constantly keep in mind where she is and The Ball, whereas Yorick's pets are less hands on
I guess it's just what you expect out of a pet class

interesting fact. after being revived as a revenant your cds are where they where when you died and you can't use summoner spells anymore
Yeah. Died to dragon due to that. Was about to sneak in a dragon using his ult, then Smite was greyed out. I was not pleased at all.
Here's my official opinion: Barring some significant innovation in playstyle, Yorik is garbage tier. He's not especially good in a solo, jungle, or duo lane, he's neither a good 1v1er or a good team fighter, he's neither especially tough nor high burst, he's not a jack of all trades, and his unique mechanic of pets is almost invisible due to mediocre damage and very, very short life time, as well as inability to control them.
Yorick gets a D+. Good concept, but completely failed to execute it correctly.
I don't know. Granted I haven't played much yorik, but it seems like it's a bit early to pass definitive judgement on him. I mean especially taking into context that the champs people play, they know well. So the learning curve needs to catch up.
That said, I don't think I've seen a team with a yorik win yet.

I just did. I went 2/0/3. Not sure how that would have played out over a full game though. He doesn't get very tanky or bursty so I'm not sure how useful I'd have been later with more items

does it make sense to build her just RoA > boots > hourglass > deathcap > whatever?
i think abyssal sceptre might be better than deathcap, but yeah
Honestly I didn't know what he was doing, he was getting kills somehow
We still beat them though, their Annie was so bad, never upgraded her boots
