The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
Atsushi Inaba, the former CEO of the studio which produced Capcom hits Viewtiful Joe and Okami, has established his own development outfit.
Operating under the name Seeds the new company has more than 50 members of staff, including Hideki Kimaya - the director of Devil May Cry - and Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami.
Many other former Clover employees have taken up positions as composers, artists and character designers.
The closure of Clover Studio, which was established in June 2004, was announced in October last year. Capcom said it had taken the decision as part of plans to "concentrate management resources on a selected business".
At that time, Inaba, Kimaya and Mikami were said to be still working for the publisher on a contractual basis.
Seeds has yet to reveal details of its first project and it's not yet known whether the studio will have links to Capcom. Clover will officially close its doors next month.
Clover, incase you didn't know, was the capcom team behind:
Viewtiful Joe
Viewtiful Joe 2
Viewtiful Joe: Red Hot Rumble
Viewtiful Joe: Double Trouble
Ōkami
God Hand
I have only recently got a PS2, but plan to get both god hand and Okami as soon as I have the spare cash. Viewtiful Joe was one of my favourite games of the last generation, and I can't wait to see what Inaba, Kimaya and Mikamican put together.
Best gaming news I'v heard in ages. I'm loving the hell out of God Hand and I think you all know my views on Viewtiful Joe. I feel Okami was a fantastic game but I simply couldn't get into it after playing so much Twilight Princess beforehand. A little too much hand-holding for my tastes but that problem is absolutley absent for God Hand. If you like Viewtiful Joe there is a very strong chance you will like God Hand.
But... but that means they still get to work on Viewtiful Joe, right?
I think its best for everyone that they work on origional stuff, and leave VJ alone untill they can think of new stuff to add to the formular, the games have been getting staler every iteration imo.

VJ 1 was a pure Joygasm. My second favorite game of all time
I got many hours of enjoyment out of 2 despite it's flaws
VJ:DS had some great puzzles but the fighting was too cut-down, plus, as with 2, lots of stuff was recycled to the max
I traded Red Hot Rumble in the day after I bought it. What a fucking let-down.
That God-Hand Review kicked ass. By the time I posted last, in 10 munites I had an epic fight with the main character's polar opposite (ONE TWO THREE FOUR I DECLARE A FOOT WAR!) then fought and killed a dude who thought he was a combination of Megaman and Vulcan Raven. Awesome

Currently playing through my first Clover game, Okami (I'm in Europe :P), and it's glorious. I hope they retain their creative genius under this new name.
