Computer getting stuck in sleep mode

I've been having a problem with my computer for about a week now where it has been going into sleep mode and not waking with any inputs. The strange thing is, I don't have a sleep mode activated. I have it set to turn the monitor off after 30 minutes, but the computer itself is not set to ever go to sleep.

And this problem has only just started occurring over the last week. It takes a hard reset to wake it up now.

Its about a 5 year old computer. Its a first gen quad-core. I'm running Windows Vista (yeah, yeah, I know, Vista) but up until this last week I haven't had any problems with it.

Anyone have any suggestions or ideas on what is causing it to go into sleep and not wake up and how to solve this? I've done the obvious stuff like check my power saver settings and everything is still setup exactly how I want it.
