    hmmm

    my older sister is talking about opening a restaurant

    she is really bad with math, paperwork, and appointments (licensure and such)

    she's a trained chef and she already has all the appropriate food handling certs required by the city

    so i gave her some general info on who she has to talk to next for the applicable licenses, and now she's talking about having me handle the paperwork side?

    several misc. questions

    1) i'm fully aware small businesses fail often, and i am 100% not going to contribute financially to this or open a line of credit. my sister is the one who's talking about loans and such.

    2) what are the implications for me, tax wise? i am willing to help her on the numbers side for free because she is my sister and owning a restaurant is her dream. however, if it's at the point where i'm legitimately helping her to run a successful small business, and i'm acquiring financial recompense, what do i do? do i need to fill out a w4 before doing anything for her?

    any help would be appreciated, noting that this is in the very early stages

    I was supposed to have a date tonight but I was up all last night feeling terrible and didn't sleep till 7. But at like 3 I felt okay but was still fucking exhausted from not getting more than 3 hours sleep. Now is when we were supposed to meet for dinner and she was super understanding but because I'm not really feeling under the weather anymore I feel like a shithead :(

    First off, I am not a tax attorney, so ... you ask the internet, you take your chances. That said, I'm fairly sure all the IRS wants you to do is report the income and pay tax on it. There may be some tax breaks involved because its a small business, but if you're just operating as an employee or consultant then it should be just like handling your tax burden for those (I think consulting might be a different form, but don't quote me on that). Best bet is to contact a professional though.

    So Pony and I were playing Saints Row and we had to go get respect and he stopped to go AFK in a neighborhood and I shot an old lady because I didn't like her cardigan and then I shot a lady who I think was a prostitute because of her attire and then some gang members came to fight me and for a while I was just holding off waves and waves of cops and gang members while protecting Pony's guy and then the helicopters came so I panicked and ran and left him for dead I'm so sorry I'm so so sorry

    chu if you're just going to be an employee and your name isn't on any of like, the loan forms or liens then I think you can literally just fill out the short form come next april. I don't think it's any more complicated than that.
