    The games will be stored in your Steam folder (under \steamapps\common\ typically). However, the save data could be stored in your My Documents folder, depending on the game. Each game will store the save data in its own default location (for example, Borderlands will store its save data in My Documents). Some games support Steamcloud, which allows you to store your data remotely on Steam, but this applies to very few games.

    Yeah, Steam is pretty flexible. My stuff saves to the cloud/C: My Docs, but is installed on D:. If you already have things installed, you can even drag the whole shebang over, delete a few files, relaunch and it should pick up the change automatically.
