So, now that I have some friends I can meet up regularly to play games with, I think it would be a good time to get some games where we can all play together.
I have a bunch of 2-player fighting games, 2-player co-op games (Dynasty Warriors style), a bunch of single-player games, and Hoard. That's the extent of my collection pretty much.
They have a 360 which they use to play Modern Warfare most of the time already so I think we don't really need another FPS.
I guess I have Rock Band 3, but I only have the keyboard so that would require investing in a bunch of peripherals and there are space issues (esp. for drums).
Also not really into sports games.

If you're open to 2-player, Wipeout HD and EDF: Insect Armageddon.
I need to give the demo a shot but it's on my radar for local hack n' slash fun.
Edit: Beat'd with more useful info regarding LBP and CC

For LBP, is there any reason to get 1 instead of just getting 2?

-X-Men
-WWE All Stars (even people who don't like wrestling games enjoy this one from what we've seen)
-Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2
-Mortal Kombat
-I'd like to second ModNation Racers and the Little Big Planet games, great stuff locally.
-Family Feud (not really 4P, only 2 controllers needed, but it can be a lot of fun with a large group of people)
-Buzz! Quiz World (up to 8 locally but it usually comes with 4 buzzers)
-Moon Diver (Strider with 4P offline)

Would you be interested at all in making levels? (Either by yourself or as a cooperative endeavor.) If yes, then both games have their own set of materials and the like (Which, everything you get in LBP1, you can use in LBP2.) so if you get both, you can have the full 'set' of creation elements. Which, you might not care about, but it was worth mentioning.
If no, then maybe not. I had a great time with LBP1's story (And 2's, of course), but it's a YMMV deal since LBP1's story is the -only thing- not on/made with/playable on LBP2.
Why not?
Go buy it you fool!

Dungeon Hunter Alliance ---- Similar to Diablo, except 4 player local. Awesome new game, get this!
Rayman Origins ---- Said by reviewers to be 'the best looking platform game on this generation of consoles' Awesome game.
Calling All Cars ---- Fun party game!.
Modnation Racers ---- Like mario kart except with nicer graphics, extensive character customising (similar to little big planet), and really smooth gameplay
Castle Crashers ---- Fast paced, humerous bash-em-up game.
Little Big Planet 1 & 2 ---- Great platform / party game for 4 players: spend an hour decorating other players characters (against their will mohaha) then muck around in levels where you shoot cake from a gun on your hat, and pick up other players and throw them around etc etc.
Let me tell you about Demon's Souls....
