Just more evidence of the brutal and, quite frankly embarrassing, victory of the North over those Southern belles with their 'rebellion.' I mean it wasn't even really a fair fight. We just slapped you guys silly until you cried uncle sam. It was kind of sad, really.
Bob, it seems that phalla's require some sort of grudge match aspect. So I'm calling you out. Fair warning.
Good 'morrow worthy Cesca.
Everyone knows this shit.
Except there isn't a Pyramid league down here in Melbourne
now what'll I do
I now have an idea for a story I am excited to write. The actual premise and plot is fucking dark and I'm not sure how I feel about having come up with an idea like this.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooo!
Is this the fencing partner who fucked up your Starbucks employment opportunity?
some people love commas I sure don't
hey this reminds what happened with that chick who dumped her bf or whatever
Yeah, commas are pretty great.
Hey, I never said I actually identify with the South when it comes to the Civil War.
You have controlled your fear. Now, release your anger. Only your hatred can write this story.

I just started watching it this week and am enjoying it a ton. My roommate creams himself over everything Sorkin related, so he's been hounding me to start for a while and it is as excellent as he claimed.

it is in fact the best show
This story feels like Kubrick and Aronofsky had a baby
and that baby was insane
you changed my post into a bastard comma splice
the most evil of all commas
The West Wing and The Wire are probably my two favorite TV shows, and picking between the two would be difficult.
Responding to this posts together because they are the same person.
Yeah, its the fencing partner who fucked up my Starbucks employment. She dumped her live in boyfriend and is currently looking for new housing.
We got lunch today and have plans to go swimming together on friday, and she'll be back to going to fencing lessons once a week with me.
Things are going well, I guess.
That's because, lady, I'll take my commas any way I can 8-)
I've paid $0 so far for fencing lessons, and they've been letting me use the loaner gear for a year now (I plan to fix that soon though).
Of course, I do SCA fencing, not Olympic.
No, but I don't really feel like she has to either. We both made some stupid mistakes back then, and there were repercussions for both of us. But it's the past, so, I don't think either of us plan on sweating it.
What is the difference? I think I've asked you this before but it was a while ago, and I mean I think sword fighting is neat and all and something I might like to try one day, but I don't want to pay out my ass and then buy gear on top of that.
Every time I drive to my girlfriend's apartment, I have to go across the Lee Highway, and I die a little on the inside.
I'm not that earnest.
swimming!
:winky:
Fair nuff
Olympic fencing is a sport, it has little resemblance to actual historical sword fighting. This isn't a knock against olympic fencing, its not trying to be a historical simulator or anything of the sort. You use very light, super flexible blades and electronic vests that detect when you are hit, no matter how light. Speed and reach is paramount.
The SCA is a larger organization, but, SCA fencing in particular aims to try to recreate fencing more historically, while still keeping it safe and fun for the participants. Its not a sport, but its a physical activity. The swords look like, well, swords from historical manuals, or movies. The blades are stout, stiffer, they can't be whipped like olympic weapons can. Circular movement is allowed, you don't fence on a strip. Off hand weapons are allowed, like daggers (as they were employed in the off hand historically). Technique is based (sometimes loosely, sometimes directly) off of historical fencing manuals that have been studied and translated. The SCA is a non-profit organization, lessons are free, and loaner gear is also generally available for no cost.
This is a good plan, Than
At least Lee was a really important general. Whenever I go to class, I have to drive on NC Highway 3 for about fifteen miles - they changed the number of the road to honor Dale Earnhardt. It used to be 136.
"29 copies of the Black Beauty were made from scrounged 1964, 1965, and 1966 Chrysler Imperials, many of which were rusted out and had to be rebuilt. Only three survived production intact."
PSN/XBL: Zampanov -- Steam: Zampanov
I'm really hoping that means it's like Dr. Strangelove or: How I learned to stop worrying and love Swan Lake.
Also, re: fencing, keep your eyes open for local non-private classes or clubs. The community center where I grew up had a fencing club and there were a couple really great older gents who taught classes for all the less advanced people. You just had to pay like, the seasonal club dues of like, $45 or so every 6 months and then get gear, which the instructor dude sold lightly used stuff for like, $100 for a suit, foil, mask, and bag.
