Colorado Unemployment Benefits

So this is my second time claiming unemployment. I read the requirments and I'm positive I meet them. Last time I applied I had been laid off due to lack of work. This time I was just told to go home without a reason. I called the owner and he said I didn't "fit in". So this time when I applyed I put that I was "let go/fire". I'm wondering if this was a mistake. Should I have put "Laid off" again? I don't even know why I was actually fired. I was never late and never had any written or verbal warnings. All I can guess is that some of the managers didn't like me, which is out of my control. Wondering if anyone has experience with this.

Umm, the way you were let go is strangely odd, and I'm honestly surprised you're not making a bigger deal about that.

Colorado's at at-will employment state. He can be fired for no cause.

Wonder why he gave a reason then.

Sexual Harassment lawyer to the rescueeeeeeee. Yes you qualify. And depending on how far you want to take this, and if you're not a white male, you can probably get more than that. You may want to sit down with a lawyer.

I am a white male. I really didn't like working there. I never did anything or got in trouble to get fired. The owner just has a really bad attitude towards employees. His idea is that he has an endless supply of minimum wage workers so he doesn't care if anyone is happy. Pretty much everyone that works there is looking for a new job. Not a fun place to work to say the least.

And yes, he doesn't need a reason to fire me. I guess since I'm not a girl there is no reason to talk to a lawyer, but I'm just wondering what my chances of getting unemployment are. I'm gonna be pretty much screwed if I don't get it.

He didn't fire you for cause, so assuming Colorado is like most at-will states, you almost certainly qualify even if you write down "fired." Even if he tries to fight it (which it sounds like he probably won't), you will still probably win.
